Apples an oranges though... MacLean had the Sens as a team focused on defense. They played just as strong with Anderson out.

The Penguins on the other hand, have historically left their goalies hung out to dry at times. Seeing how Anderson played in the Pens series with lapses in defensive coverage, that makes me doubt that he's a great solution for the Pens.

I was going to post something like this.

Anderson is perfect for Ottawa and maybe not so perfect for Pittsburgh. I'ma firm believer that systems make or break a goalie. Marty Brodeur and Hank with the Rags are a byproduct of their systems. Put those two in Pittsburgh, they don't have that success. Not saying they would fail in the least, but they certainly wouldn't be of the stature they are now or in Marty's case, were.

They moved Burns to the wing and worked fairly well. Also byfuglien played wing for the hawks during their cup run.

if you look at the numbers in ottawa, you'll see it wasn't a system thing. sens had BAD defense, bailed out nightly by two great goalies (bishop was good, but nowhere near the other two).

andy might not be AS good in pitt, but he'll br miles ahead of what you have now

i honestly don't think that trade would ever happen, but andy would be a great goalie in pitt, especially with the run support they provide

I'm not sure Andy would be any better than Fleury in the regular-season. MAF is a regular-season type of guy. Would he be better in the play-offs? Sure, but we would still be trailing 2-0 in this series if he were in net.
