Not quite enough, include a roster player too.......like a solid 2nd or 3rd line player...in my opinion.

Stafford?
Or since u guys would need a backup, maybe Enroth or Hackett?
And we have a couple good goalie prospects in Makarov & Ullmark (not sure if u have anyone coming up or not?)

I'm sure the two sides could work something out

trade Miller for Pominville. I could see Pominville being a good fit for the sabres

Ya i guess its only 1 year... and you guys wont have that much salary to worry about next year
All i know is that Minny sure as (frank) aint gonna trade their #2 dman for an aging, past his prime goalie.

if Darcy plays this right you SHOULD get good prospects... not GREAT prospects... Miller is past his prime and numbers keep declining. Sure hes still a top 15 goalie but top 10 is debatable now

if Darcy gets a great prospect for Miller he should do that trade immediately.

Vanekl is a different situation... guy in his prime, top line W, they NEED to get a great prospect for him

actually miller hasnt really declined, he just had 1 great season that threw everything off

If Minny trades Brodin their GM needs to be fired immeditaley after he makes that trade. Hes their future #2 dman alongside Suter. No way they would trade him

excellent. I like that Roy is being passed around teams being touted as a highly skilled Center who is a key piece of a winning organization. Looks to me as if other teams realize just the opposite and is just a suckers trade bait.

Wild hire Mike Milbury?
Is it true than he traded the entire NBC hockey studio along with Keith Jones for Alexei Yashin and Oleg Kvasha?

Wow...I really typed Flames. Holy crap. I mean to type Wild. That makes zero sense, I MUST have been on something.
But yes, Flames hiring him makes more sense.

It's an option, but it shouldn't be the first thing to think of.
Just like there's the option of trading him to Min for a package including Heatley (to help them out with the cap) and getting a good return and then using a CBO on Heatley...but it's not preferred.

- jmatchett383

True...
But with $$$ no longer being an issue for us,
And the fact that we are clearly in "re-build" mode,
I feel like we'll be flexible to do whatever is necessary to get the best possible return for Miller and Vanek...
And if we work out deals where we don't have to eat some of their salary...
I could see us doing it with Stafford and Leino at some point to make them more attractive to teams

The draft should be very interesting for us
We def have a variety of options

My dream trade for Miller actually involves U guys...
Something like:
Miller for Simmonds, #11, and we'd take on Bryzgalov for u guys
Maybe we throw in a decent young guy like Flynn for ya?
Who knows if Pholly would be interested in Miller,
But it could make sense

You are high as a kite if you think Minnesota would part with Brodin or Dumba when they are tying to build up their D core. Especially Brodin who I think deserved the Calder this year.

Also, The Wild are tight to the cap and probably can't take on a salary like Miller's unless they peel off a player like Heatley at $6m a year. Which it exactly why they were hot on Raanta.

- Oglethorpe

Alrite then. SHoot me a trade scenario that the Sabres would want for Miller, considering they dump Heatley and want Miller.

I'm going to go ahead and throw the idea out there that, possibly, there isn't a deal to be made between these two teams involving Miller.

Milbury is the worst GM of any team I can remember...
Even worse than Matt Millen for the Detroit Lions
How these guys end up with commentary jobs after disasters like that makes me wonder?
Who would take anything they say seriously?

Well, he DID beat a man with his own shoes. That has to count for SOMETHING.
Also, it's possible that he's at least partially responsible for AO's great second half this past season.

It could happen if we were to include more than Miller,
Like maybe Ennis? Or if they like Sekera or Weber?
Tough to know what they'd value...
Miller could also agree to an extension w them as part of the trade (like Staal did for Carolina), assuming he likes the situation

Something like
Miller (at half his cap hit)
Ennis (to cheaply take Heatlys spot)
Weber or Sekera (cheap, but decent defensive options)
For
One of those touted prospects we've been discussing
Heatley (as a cash dump)
And a pick or two in 2014 draft

I think a left winger would be e the better option, we are fine at center. As far as a back up to Quick, I think we can find someone within our own system or via free agency.

If Backstrom leaves, I'm willing to be they'll be shopping for a 3-4 year stop gap until Kuemper is ready to rock. Their goaltending is probably their biggest weakness and their best players are in their prime. I'm of the opinion there's certainly the ability to make a deal here. Not saying it will happen at all. But if. if. Miller goes to Minnesota. My bet is on a young defense man coming back.

WIld havent drafted all that great either prior to fletcher so my question is what is his role? HOpe hes decision wont sway fletchers mind.

But so far fletcher has done better than any year previous

Stafford is a winger, plays mostly RW but has played some on the left side
Leino is decent when healthy, but at 4.5m cap hit I can't imagine LA being interested... Maybe if we took on half his salary, but even then he's been pretty injury prone, so I doubt he'd be a guy the kings want

Assuming we trade Miller and Vanek,
Steve Ott might want out, and he's in the last year of his contract...
But then u guys would have to give us more than just Bernier if we are giving u Ott and a 1st...
Muzzin and Toffoli are guys I could see Buffalo interested in

And what about Vanek to u guys?
ESP if we eat half his contract so he fits better for u under the cap?
Add him and you'd have TWO pretty awesome top lines

Wait a sec...
Did the Wild actually hire Milbury?!
I thought that was a joke bc of some of the crazy trade proposals being made...
There's no way some team thought it'd be a good idea to bring that dipsh!t into their organization... Did they?!

No, I was just implying that it would take Milbury as a GM to make some of these trades (top-notch young players for goalie with 1 year left, for example).
