So the Oilers should get a first for Hemsky, but shouldn't deal anything for Bernier because there is a glut of back up goalies available. Gotcha. - golfingsince
Are you speaking to Cloutier,or Oiler fans in general? |

We would just package Kulikov in a big deal for the 3rd. Why trade for the 7th and lose value. Though I know your just joking. - Crazycaboose

why trade a bunch of roster pieces for a back up goalie when you can sign one for nothing but money |

Ya that's why I'd like to see him on the oilers. How was his all around game this year? Didn't get to watch him this year. He was drafted by Detroit, must be good haha.
Would you consider paajarvi and a pick for kulikov? - ystoil
Depends on the pick but I doubt you would go higher then a 2nd rounder.
So honestly I would really only do Gagner for Kulikov. Unless we try making it a little bigger and we try for Eberle. |

he's 25. His window of opportunity is closing real quick. I say the best he'll be is a #7/8 - TheNugeIsHuge
If he can play big minutes down in OKC and hold his own on an injury call up here and there then he still serves a purpose. He'll push our other prospects to take his spot if nothing else. And if all goes miraculously well he turns into a #5-6 max. Win win situation |

Did Cloutier really say "the Oilers draft philosophy is to not take dmen with top ten picks" and supported it by saying "history has proven this right".
Welp, I guess (frank) the 08' draft....just for starters.
This man clearly has MPD and thinks he's one of the Oilers scouts. - mochoson
What is MPD? Is that like Google maps? |

I think Cloutier just likes him because he was really trying that one training camp...Cloutier seems to think as soon as the Oilers "get inspired" they'll be unstoppable, and Fedun is the poster boy for that. - Morris
Actually, Fedun has played pretty well over the last 20 games. |

Gagner just put up 38 in 48, I doubt MPS and a 2nd is worth nearly as much lol |

They won't get a first for Hemsky. But other than that you have the right idea. |

My 12 bold Predictions:
1) Edmonton can't find a suitor for Ales Hemsky, therefore he remains an Oiler for at least the start of the season.
2)Klefbom is overwhelmed and/or outperformed by Belov and another rookie D, and goes down to OKC at about the 12 game mark.
3)Horcoff is not bought out and remains an Oiler for at least 2013-14.
4)Ryan Smyth gets off to a pretty good start, but is scratched by Chritmas...sometime in February he announces his retirement and finishes the season in another capacity.
5) Oilers use the 7th pick to take the BPA at the draft.Whomever that is, he gets sent down before 9 pro games.
6) Mac T overpays,slightly, for 2 free agents (top 6 fwd,top 4 D).
7) Oilers sign a career back up for a case of beer and 2 packs of smokes.
8)Oilers sign a couple has been bottom 6 forwards...who have huge bounce back seasons.
9) Oilers make the playoff's on the last day of the season.
10)Oilers get swept in the 1st round, and some player from the other team makes a bold prediction that praises the Oilers and where they are headed, using some standard hockeyspeak cliches.
11) Cloutier will say he predicted all of the above at some point or another.
12)Cloutier will threaten to quit hockey buzz....but ofcourse, like herpes, will keep coming back. - Jeropotato

No. Before he shattered his leg, he looked like a future Top 4 guy. Maybe not a 1/2 but a potential 3/4. |

I think you already have. It went "Hemsky for the 15th pick. Take Horvat. He's on the team as a 2C in october. Take Ian Mccoshen at 37, he'll start top 4. Jarry at 56, he can be dubnyk's backup. Mitchell wheaton at 128, he can start as a #5 D man. All prospects jump to the NHL the second they are drafted where they will succeed"
