Worst of all worlds for the Kings...hurt, tired and their best player wasnt. The back to backs were perfect for the Hawks...no time for the Kings to recover, recoup and strategize. As is so often the case, Game 3 determines whether this is or isnt a series. If they dent Quick early, its over. If they compensate by giving more attention to the third and fourth lines, Toews and Kane are likely to wake up their scoring, and its over. Amazing to be here considering how it felt to be down 3-1 such a short while ago. Just hope this isnt the calm before the storm. I think depth and speed will spell demise for the Kings sooner rather than later.

I thought Kevin Dineen was the orginal Little Ball of Hate. The rest all fit the bill but Dineen was a bastard to play against.

I'll feel better about things should the Hawks win 1 in LA. The Kings are great at home, and I expect game 3 to be an s.o.b.

They (Kings) look off, but I don't completely buy this, they played two tough series and that's why they're tired bs. The Hawks were probably even more likely to have a letdown after winning in OT vs the Wings, at least in game 1. What I'm most impressed by the Hawks is how eagerly they're engaging the physical part of the game.

I don't doubt it goes back further than Theo, he's just the first I recall.

54th!

Quick will be back tomorrow night on a mission. We need to pounce fast and often! Let's see what the last change does for LA. If I learned anything from the last series we played, it ain't over til it's over! Don't let up now.

Agreed all the way around, game 3 should be a war. Hawks go for the dagger, L.A. to regain momentum. Hawks can come out of the first period tied or in the lead, it could be over.

Am I excited this AM? OF course...but lets hold off planning the parade route.

LA is a VERY good home team, In fact, a great team. They will give the Hawks all they can handle on Tuesday night, and lets wait to see how that goes. 2 wins doesn't mean crap...ask St. Louis. 3 wins does mean crap...ask Detroit.

I thought the Hawks played better Saturday, then they did last night. I didn't like most of the 1st period where I thought LA dominated, and from the 10 minutes to go in the 2nd until the end. Yes they were up 4-0, but they seemed to let it up a bit at the end...A win is a win, and I'm grateful for that...but I think LA can take some confidence out of that game.

I do agree that LA forces Quick to almost super human to win games...and even...that's not a given they'll win. Hawks just need to stick what is going well in the defensive end...and move the puck out quickly, as well as have the forwards support.

I will say, that for this team to win 6 more games....they are going to need 19 AND 88 to wake up and start scoring. 19 does a lot of things well, but he could have burried LA in the 3rd on Saturday and didn't score...Kane....again.....seems to be resided to the fact that he'll stay on the perimeter.

God bless Patrick Sharp....and people wanted to buy this guy out or trade him....

The Hawks breakout has been nothing short of spectacular these last two games. And because the Hawks are getting out clean they find themselves with lots of advantages or two on two's- which is basically an advantage because either Regher or matt Greene are on the ice, and they just can't keep up. See the Seabrook goal...

Saad, Shaw and Stalberg have been really good. Saad might have been the Hawks best forward last night. Certainly was for the first two periods. What that kids going to be in the coming years makes me giggle.

Nice to see Keith return to being Keith. Keeping his minutes down during the regular season probably helped.

Kopitar is obviously hurt. He shouldn't be getting pushed around the way he has been. Look for a surgery announced right after this series ends.

The Staples center is going to be a different beast altogether. But if the Hawks continue to play this well, I think they'll get at least a game. I have tickets for a game 5. Hopefully it's the clincher....

That's my fear as to what will happen. He looks like a beast right now, and he's playing his best hockey that I've ever seen him play.

I also remember the Bickell from last season who couldn't put it together, and got benched for stretches of time. I also remember Bickell from his playing days in Rockford - A man amongst boys who would go through long stretches of putting up poor efforts on the ice.

Bowman should have worked out an extension earlier in the season for Bickell when he would have been more apt to sign for less.

- EKolb13

If people are going to expect the type of Bickell we are seeing now... next season in November... They will be greatly disappointed. The way games are called are radically different. That and injury potential will keep Bickell much like the one we saw this reg season. I am perfectly fine with that. As long as he brings this element come playoff time.

I was already expecting a poor season from him next year, especially if he gets a raise and stays here. That first year of a bigger contract usually dogs you! (see Campbell, Hammer)

Plus it's hard to play at this physical level for a whole season. I think if Bickell dials it up for big games, and when he needs to open up space during a tightly checked game I would be satisfied. Then of course he needs to go full red ass when playoffs come around.

Not to take anything away from the Hawks last night but Quick had a bad game.

Not saying the Kings would have won if Quick played out of his mind but 4 goals against JQ is a rare occurrence.

The biggest adjustment the Kings have to make is to get the puck to the open man when trying to establish a forecheck. Every time the Kings tried to start a cycle in the Hawks zone, the Hawks had 2 guys on the puck.

In order for the Kings to win, they have to be able to carry the puck into the zone and establish a forecheck which they didn't do at all in games 1 and 2.

Dump and Chase=losses.

And this is precisely one huge reason why the Hawks are where they are throughout this entire season.

Home or not, I think the Hawks really do have the Kings solved.

I wonder if the success in this series has anything to do prior knowledge from Kompon?
