That hooking call on him last game was some weak ass sh!t.

FYI, F'n doesn't get censored, no need to "ph" it

- Ogilthorpe2

And all the bolland bashers were ripping him for that even pang thought it was a real weak call. Bolland has taken some bad penalties but that one was total bs

The Rat was that good in 2010. Imagine what the Vancouver or San jose series' would have been like if he didn't totally take out the sedins and Jumbo joe? He did to them what zetterberg did to toews for those 3 games. But bolland did that for the whole series

He's a TERRIFIC PLAYOFF performer no doubt. You're preaching to the choir on 36.

Pffffft....it's over. Bring on the Bruins.
- Ogilthorpe2

For the record, my wife, who doesn't watch much but knows enough to know the Hawks were damn good this year, called the comeback from 3-1 against Detroit while I was drowning my sorrows prior to Game 5....

She also called the two game sweep over the weekend. Tonight called a split in LA and over in 5. Money?

That's why I like posting at night. All the cool and smart people I have a feeling that post doesn't go over too well with the Bollus crowd

Damn let's hope so I do think if they split in LA it will be over in 5. It will be tough to get a split, though. I think game 4 might be the game we take. Maybe the kings will be really tired tomorrow, though from 3 games in 4 days while being banged up pretty badly

Not sure what argument you're referencing there....my post was sarcastic

- darkman

I realize you were being sarcastic, but others are not. I agree with you that goalie stats can be misleading, and in Quick's case the guys style and form drive traditionalist nutz. But he gets the job done, has great numbers, and a ring.

Many on this site continue to debate whether CC is great, good, lousy, or just lucky. I personally think the guy is a solid goal tender who may, or may not, get his name on a cup. But even if he does win the cup his play will continue to be analyzed and debated.

My listing of goalies good and bad who have won a cup, or not, is simply to illustrate that there are zero guarantees. It's a team sport and the reason for a team losing, or winning, can be varied.

To me the CC debate is exhausting. If he helps this club win the cup this season he will still be the same goalie he was in January...only he'll have his name on the cup. Next year his numbers will likely slip and the same criticisms will be back.

Too bad he's not Henrik Lundqvist...sterling reputation, highly respected...

...and continues to have zero Cups. But he'll always be viewed as perhaps the greatest goalie in the world regardless of the soft goals he allowed against the Bruins in 2013.

But moving on...

...man 'o man I want the Hawks to roll onward.

Hawks vs. Bruins sounds absolutely fantastic...what a great historic matchup that would be.

All those decades of Original 6 competition, and never once did these 2 meet in the finals.

Not once...

Another old paradign so many you have to reject:

Pittsburgh 37 hits

Bruins 19 hits

Ignila, Morrow, Cooke,Kunitz, Neal, Douglas Murray .... those hits make a difference?

"Get bigger physical guys, because they will slow up the other team."

- wiz1901

Wiz, seemed pretty clear to me that the Pens acquisitions (size, toughness) were aimed squarely at countering the Bruins--doesn't seem to be working very well. The team's overlooked holes remain. Shero praised and SB damned, but the Pens gambled away a lot in the pipeline--and it may not have worked. Rangers did much the same in the 90's, and there was no salary cap to further complicate matters then...this could have ugly consequences later.

We all have opinions about players so no shame in having strong opinions...but the evidence on Bolland's playoff value is clear. He's a BEAUTY

His numbers are not good but also could have something to do with the fatigue of his teammates.

No team plays better in back to back games than the Hawks since Paul Goodman has been on the scene.

Hawks continue to roll with a 4-2 victory, Quick looks human. "Soft" Hawks taking care of tough Kings:FOX Chicago:http://bit.ly/15ynJtj

Great point, Al. The Hawks' hard skating, up-tempo style definitely suggests better overall conditioned athletes.

I hope she's right again. I can see a split in LA as well...which is still huge for the Hawks given LA's playoff home record.

Yeah, I was just about to ask which one of you guys called this addition WEEKS ago?

For any first time visitor here, you have joined the blog that is ahead of the rest....

- wiz1901

I have to give credit where it is due: I think it was UnnamedSource who said the hawks already signed Raanta a few weeks ago. Great job! Know any other inside info? I was worried over the last few days when all I heard about was either Edmonton, Minny, or the Jets signing him. I won't doubt you again

All those decades of Original 6 competition (and before) and the Hawks made the finals only 7 times (3 wins).
