Would anyone trade all 4 of our picks in the first 2 rounds to get in the top 3? |

I would, and then trade Miller and Vanek and most likely get later 1st round picks + for them. |

I wouldn't trade future #1's. This team could be terrible in the next year or two. |

No. Keep at least the 16th or both of the 2nds. Too many good players get drafted every year in the 2nd. Would I love to get in the top 3, of course but not at the expense of several guys who could be part of the rebuild |

The trade of Miller and/or Vanek would refill some of the draft picks |

Wouldn't you rather have a superstar on this team though instead of 2 or 3 guys that will be in the AHL for a couple years? |

There's no guarantee ones better than the other at this point. - sbroads24
True, but I would still take McKinnon over Grigs any day of the week at this point |

I personally wouldn't. There are 3 different situations that I wouldn't mind seeing:
1) Keep picks, draft Lindholm and a D man or whoever is available.
2) Keep #8, hopefully get Lindholm, move up from 16 to 11-13 and snag Pulock.
3) Use both picks amongst other assets to move up and get a Barkov/Nichuskin. |

For a chance at a franchise type player is this year's draft, i would. I think they have some young prospects in the system they could build around. |

I would because as a poster said a few posts ago, we would still have Miller and Vanek as options to trade back into the 1st round potentially. Plus we have a 1st and three 2nds next season coming as well. |

A team in the top three wouldn't take only draft picks for a top 3 pick though. They would want the 8th pick, either Myers, Grigs, or Girgs, ++ |

I know everyone in Buffalo would freak out but I wouldnt mind keeping the picks either. Draft the bpa with both and see what they become. |

Of course I would love a superstar. Personally I think the price for the top 3 is too much. Just for arguments sake look at some of the 2nd rounders still in the playoffs right now.
Duncan Keith
James Neal
Patrice Bergeron
David Krecji
With this deep draft I would love to snatch up a player like this in the 2nd |

1st from whom? If that's the case, trading miller or vanek and this years 8th plus future number 1's make sense if they have two number 1's again next year. |

We need more than just a star though. I agree we need top 4 talent, but TB has a superstar and they are worse than us. They actually have a few stars. |

Even though there is no parallel between the NFL and NHL I keep thinking about the 1983 NFL draft. Maybe because I just watched that ESPN 30 for 30 film on it. John Elway was definitely going to be picked #1 and the Colts knew he wouldn't come there. They wanted 2 1sts and 2 2nds to trade that pick. Not many teams have those assets in a given season and this year Buffalo does. |
