Big Dream deal... Buffalo trades Miller, Grigorenko and #8 pick to Colorado for #1 pick and Stastny. Roy could use Grigorenko on either 2nd or 3rd line, obtains his top-notch goalie and then can draft his young D-man (Nurse or Ristolainen) with #8 pick. Stastny has not played up to expectations the past 2 years and is in his contract year ($6.6 million) and Sabres get their franchise cornerstone with either MacKinnon (my preference) or Seth Jones.

If Big Dream Deal were to actually happen... then Sabres could package Vanek with a draft pick (reluctantly #16 most likely) to either trade up for Drouin (to pair with MacKinnon) or Nichushkin or Barkov (pair him with Armia).

The Oilers are the team that have the pieces to move up, should they want to. They have an abundance of forwards, Gagner and Hemsky would be a good start when it comes to moving up. Absolutely not. That said however, if they move Miller and Vanek and go the youth movement I think they will be fun to watch as they grow together. Now they need to get that wussy Meyers to play like a beast that a 6'7" player should be, and give playing time to Grigerenko so he can learn on the fly rather sitting there and developing a bad attitude ... RR is positioned as a Teaching Coach, we need to see that in spades this year. Lastly, dump Stafford for anything or do an Amenisty Buyout to save the dollars so they can invest elsewhere..like on a UFA who has determination to win at all costs

Vancouver's Sedin Twins) Get MacKinnon and Drouin or get MacKinnon and jones. Either way you get 2 cornerstones for your franchise.

Sabres dont't have the assets to get 1 and 2 or even 3 and 4 overall. It is going to take all of Miller, Vanek, and the 8th to get to 2 or 3 because the top 4 drafting teams know what they possess. It is a Sellers Market this year. That said I love the creative thought and would go absolutely nuts if Darcy pulls anything remotely close to that scenario.
