Last night Dimitri Korobov and the rest of Yzermans aquistion proved how smart he truly is at this hockey thing. A strong farm system is essential in today's NHL to compete both on the ice AND in terms of the cap restriction. Sustr is playing like a coveted college player that everyone wanted. Namestnikov has improved ALOT since the end of the season. And what about Ondrej Palat? Taken in the 7th round (#208) and leads all AHL scorers with 20 points (5g,15a) in 12 games (1.67 points per game). Talk about a diamond in the rough.

Great read Michael and can't agree with you more. If we can get Richie for 3 mill or under for 3 years for a player who averages nearly a point per game why would you not want him back. The PP would be upgraded instantly plus there is a Veteran replacing Marty when he retires in 8 years Trade Malone and buy out Brewer then you have room for Richards and some D help along with brining up the youth.

I understand our D has holes in it but I'm hoping under Cooper it gets sorted out. How can you say Carle and Salo are worse or equal to Kubina and Clark? Looked like a system failure more then anything.

For those who say Richards wouldn't come back cause he got skrewed by Tampa in the past. That was when the team was ran by the Barnum and Baily Circus managed by Lead Clown Lawton. Different Era and Leadership now in Tampa.

It's great to see I just hope it translates to the NHL VERY soon. Its hard to imagine a team that dominate in the minors doesn't have NHL caliper talent in there somewhere. Can't wait to see these guys bring the confidence to the Bolts they desperately need the moral boost.

yeah ...our farm team looks like a bunch of NHL'ers playing against average ahl players lol....palat is beyond rediculous....so is johnson

i still remember johnsons first goal for the lightning the kids a monster!! tough battle in the corner and given his size the odds were slim, but he came out not only unbruised, but with the puck...walks out front and (frank)ing rips it top shelf..it was wicked

just saw mark eaton is available via FA this summer...hes a well rounded defenseman with a pretty solid d game...what do u guys think? a caphit of just 725 g's

also wade redden is too! just 1mil

I was thinking th same thing. They look like an NHL team playing in the AHL. I firmly believe that Johnson and Palat are a lock. Dimitri Korobov could very well push Aulie back to the AHL or out of Tampa via trade.

what about Slater Koekkoek ?? to be honest i think our roster will consume of many many AHL players next year

jon cooper has strong belief in these guys and trust...and they have proven him right just this past season (few games in the NHL)...the guys love playing for him and he can get the best out of all of those guys which is absoloutely great for our future...with such strong prospects coming up im so excited ...its funny...some teams would be worried that their roster is going through a rebuild and we are super young...but our guys are nothing short of very solid
NHL players

i think the guys we saw brought up last year to fill in rolls will be the guys we see permanently on our roster, and cooper knew it since he took over. i think he was just giving them a look at whats to come for them this coming season

cant wait to watch killorn again

I think that we will have more AHLer's too, but Michael disagrees and he's entitled to be wrong . I believe that Cooper wants his guys and I think he's gonna get what he wants. I wouldn't mind Scuderi, but from what I see, we have too much talent not to use them. Bring it on Michael, I'm ready for you!

in all reality though theres guys there that have already proven to be ready for the nhl..

johnson, killorn, palat, brown, even panik, gudas, barberio, koekkoek?

its hard to imagine any of these guys in the AHL again next year, so if it comes down to it and our forward positions are filled then we can make a sweet trade for a proven defenseman with any of these guys, theyre all great

read eklunds blog? guess a lot of teams are putting huge packages together to trade for the #3-5 pick and grab nunchuck...god damn this kid is getting a lot of hype

Nowhere have I ever said that we won't see young players on the roster; I just think that adding another veteran body might be prudent.

As for your trade proposals - we have enough middle six winger prospects. The goal with this pick should be to add an elite force. Keep the pick, or trade up. Trading down, in my opinion, isn't an option. We have enough depth.

with that said, he is the only Dmen worth drafting that high ....if hes taken...we draft drouin/mackinnon/nich...

only if he is available i want A Dmen with this high of a pick

Veterans haven't done us much good. A youth infusion is what we need. Our veterans on defense are Salo, Carle, Hedman (sorta, he ain't no rookie) and Brewer. Our offensive veterans are St. Louis, Lecavalier, Thompson, Purcell (barely), Crombeen and Malone (hopefully gone). Youthful infusion and blind passion is what Cooper will harness.

what use is crombeen....everytime he fights he loses and he isnt very good lol...i understand his role as a grinder and in the corner type of guy, but lets be honest here...i think hes brutal -_-

i want someone to tell me the importance of keeping him around, so maybe i can stay a little happier every time i watch him play

If we add Jones then just move Malone and I would be satisfied with that.

Killorn Lecavalier Connolly
Panik Johnson Palat
Crombeen Thompson ______ <----- fourth line winger (your vet)

Salo Hedman
Carle Jones
Gudas Brewer
Aulie
