Buying out or trading Malone is the first thing to do. He doesnt fit the team anymore. Still a good player and Im sure a team would be interested in him, for maybe a pick. Im still debating whether buying out Brewer would be a good thing or not. Not too many Dmen available that would be an upgrade.
Richards is an idea. Briere could be another one. He could add some scoring depth as well as veteran leadership. Plus he wouldn't cost much.
Saying this, I'dd really like to see Connolly step up in the top 6 at some point. I believe the year in the AHL did him some good and could surprise this coming year. - TBolts4
yessir, ive heard that the canadiens showed interest in malone at some point this past season? could be just an inaccurate rumor |

Don't let third in scoring fool you. We have a 50+ goal scorer on the team. That tends to skew things. - Michael_Stuart
I still pass. Our issue is and will continue to be defense as long as we keep adding offense.
Nunchuk (or Drouin) Stamkos St. Louis
Killorn Lecavalier Purcell
Connolly Johnson Brown (or Panik
Crombeen Thompson Palat
Salo Hedman
Carle ____ <----- GLARING hole next to Carle
Brewer Gudas
(Alternate Aulie)
Bishop
Lindback
The one key we need is NOT another offensive player, but a solid, sturdy, kick-ass, bone breaking, body smashing wall next to Carle to punish any figure skating, premadonna fairy from waltzing into our zone. Richards is a great player, but hes soft.I still F-U-C-K-I-N-G pass. [/img] |

If Briere comes here, I'm going to become a Ducks fan! |

I will say that Namestnikov has REALLY impressed me. He has grown by leaps and bounds in the latter part of the Crunch season and the playoffs. Another year or two and he'll be suiting up in Tampa Bay.
I don't see ANY scenario where Palat doesn't make the team next year. He has been and absolute stud for Syracuse. That diving play at the end of last nights game was awesome and his point totals are other worldly!
I was sorry to see Conacher go, but Tyler Johnson has filled his "be like St. Louis" shoes quite well (I not saying he will be, but he too is something special). |

Conacher started out good then finished his career with Tampa barely seeing the ice. He's too frail... he was on his butt everytime someone touched him. He was no St Louis. Nobody is. |

I'd like to see Connolly in sort of a hybrid role with the second and third lines. Give him some second unit PP time, and help develop him into a well-rounded NHL player. Long-term, there should definitely be a spot for him in the top six. |

I think a lot depends on what happens at the draft. There are now some who believe that Nichushkin could go as high as first overall. The guy is one heck of a talent, and he's my go-to guy at three. If either one of MacKinnon or Jones is available at three, this thing could get nutty before all is said and done.

OK
but the prospects coming up aren't going to take a lot of money to pursuade to play in the NHL lol i'd play for free my first year lol theyre just so pumped to have finally of made it they don't care and understand that they havent proven anything yet and are not really worth a huge payment...yet... so us signing all those young prospects will be fairly cheap and leave room for richards - RileyB77
Basically the team is granted relief in that it has the ability to spend over the cap to find a replacement for Ohlund. Given that there is no definition for replacement, that money can be used elsewhere on the roster. The team doesn't get Ohlund's cap space back, but it has the ability to over spend slightly. This definition sums it up nicely.

Scuderi is at the top of my list, but there are many viable options either through Free agency or trade. |

Trade intrigues me. If we deal a young forward for a proven D-man, that might make a Richards return more likely. - Michael_Stuart

If we land Nichushkin, I'll be content with what we've got on the forward lines.
EDIT - Seriously though, read what scouts are saying about him today. He's got the talent to go first overall. This guy, at three, could end up being a steal. As silly as that sounds, I think he could be that good. Imagine him with Stamkos. Nunchuk! |

Jones is acceptable. Him and Carle would make a good pairing. |

I meant as an alternative if Scuderi is not available. |

With a 5-0 lead over the Penguins going into the 3rd period, it appears that Syracuse is going to the finals and our junior team is going to play for its second straight Calder Cup. |

no to Richards, that ship sailed. Draft droin/nisk, hopefully ohland retires and bring in some defensive help; call it a day. |
