Logged back on to say that I hope the Islanders fold and the Canucks get their Cup banners.

Also, Wang's son can go back to making the sequel for UP.

Fat (frank).

It is terrible if it hinges on a prime prospect going back.

XxNYIxX

- XxNYIxX

How prime is he really?

I think the fans just don't wanna be a part of the team that gets humped again by a big contract.

There is potential with Nino, but he isn't an NHL regular yet. Isles are getting the best player out of the deal and if a pick like I suggested is included, its something to offset losing the younger player.

he's our second best O prospect behind Strome, he's projected for the team out of camp, thats a pretty prime.

But you dont get if we were to take Lou, we are doing them a favor.. not the other way around.

IMO it would be a win-win, not like the Isles are a cap ceiling team. But I agree that Nino is a pipedream. A conditional pick depending on how the Isles perform would be fair. And is it just me, or would he be a little less cool of a prospect if his name was Mike Johnson instead? Just sayin.

Ok, thats fine, if he hasn't fallen out of favor and wanting out then so be it, throw in a lower tier player.

You are and you aren't doing them a favor, best part is, Lu will not play out that contract, he will retire and it will still bite the Nucks in the behind, 50% or whatever it is with the cap hit being put on the canucks when he retires. What you are is making your team a contender for the playoffs every year, a little bit of pride has to be swallowed.

Hey I am the ONLY Islander fan here on this site that wouldn't mind seeing a deal worked out, but its not going to be for a key piece of our build.

Edit: even the hockey pros are saying that the longer this goes on Van will have to give up assets to get rid of Lou.

True dat, Isles just gotta turn the corner now and push into the playoffs more, Lu would be a huge key to that. Even though Nabokov and Lubomir felt all warm and fuzzy about the Isles after being there for a bit, didnt we see them fighting tooth and nail to negate the deals to Long Island. Top free agent goalies won't just land at their doorstep.

You don't seem to understand that we are going to have a hard time REACHING the floor!!!! NOBODY seems to get this?!?!!?!? DP's contract is actually helping us do so!

wouldn't you want to reach the floor with a player that would actually play?

sure he could be a key piece to moving forward, but if we give up a key piece (right wing for tavares) for a goaltender when there are PLENTY of available options that are cheap and can do the job (pens made the conf finals with vokoun, who was bought off the scrap heap, Isles made the playoffs with a 37 year old goaltender who was not very good in the beginning of the year, or the playoffs)

why should we give up a piece when we can keep it and get a piece that might not be quite as good but will be a crap load less expensive and won't cost us the piece we want to keep?
