personally if I were a Canucks fan I'd be pretty high on Tanev, from what I've seen of him (fair amount) he looks steady and reliable. Hard to find young defensemen that you can rely on for mistake free minutes.

The right coach hire will turn him into Yandle 2.0 sooner than later.

I would've said yes for O'Reilly. Definitely no for Stastny.

Avs would say no to both, sooo..... ya

Do you view that as a good thing?

I wish he were more physical, but he's not. If he stays within himself & turns into a pacesetting visionary from the back end who is top 4 in team scoring on an annual basis while being defensively reliable, I'll be thrilled.

Well that's good the problem is snow forgot to take hos crazy pills this month so he won't be doing it. You're not getting a player who will prob be a top 6 power fwd for Luongo.
- Cptmjl

I'm not asking for a top 6 power fwd. I'm asking for Nino.

Nope. I'd just about take anyone if it meant Lu found another team to play for. This situation does not work for the team nor does it work for Lu himself. To be honest, I'd rather get a draft pick or two for the guy.

See? This is why we should buy him out. He gets his guaranteed $ & has the freedom to seek his own employment elsewhere (anywhere he wants). I'm sick of talking about recapture, but taking the chance that it won't be enforced isn't worth acquiring a couple draft picks.

again, where did Bob Mackenzie say you were getting anything other than DP for Luongo? All these young prospects you guys are adding in are coming from you.
- Isles_since_6

What kinda moron would think that Dp could be traded for anyone. He doesn't play... Luongo does.... You obviously have no common sense. IF that trade were to happen there would be something else coming from NYI. If you can't see that then go return your head to the rear end it is in.

True. Just another (frank)up in a long history of (frank)ups by canuck management. doesn't seem to matter who's steering the ship.

we don't. Bob MacKenzie was suggesting it. I don't see DP moving anywhere, nor do I see Luongo going anywhere. I wouldn't expect an asset back for DP's contract nor Luongo's. Both should be buy outs. The funny thing is that there will be no Islanders fans disappointed or surprised DP couldn't be traded and is bought out, but the vast majority of Canuck fans will be bitterly disappointed since most of them bought into what Gillis announced as his expected return.

My comments all along have been, we do not want Luongo on that contract. If he was traded to the Isles the Canucks would have to take back DP to buy him out and that because of Luongo's contract we do not want to give up an asset. Both of these guys are posterchildren for the new CBA and neither should be looked at as anything of value under their current contracts.

Luongo could be quite valuable if he was bought out, DP would be out of hockey if he was bought out.

-1 and -2 still is less than nothing.

Should have traded him to Florida for whatever they were willing to give up, even if it was nothing, prior to the previous CBA expiring.

3) he didnt start this Bobby Mac did
4) True but for the vanc fans to assume it would be a treasure trove of riches is silly

I don't think Tanev will ever offer the point production that Yandle does.

It must be really difficult for you to wrap your head around the fact that Lu is a bonafide NHL starter capable of playing 70+ games whereas DP is an injury prone AHL backup. How you equate they have the same value is beyond me, or pretty much anyone else for that matter.

Based on his vision/skating/passing & hockey IQ, I think his offensive potential is only limited by the opportunity/role he's given by the next staff. It's not like Yandle has anything skillset wise that Tanev doesn't. The difference between their games is experience, confidence & opportunity.

He's got a bit of a muffin for a shot, despite working on it. If you're Ryan Smyth and score your goals from a six foot circle of the net you're fine, but he's a dman. Still love his overall game and his calm first pass though!

Yandle queefs the puck towards the net too. It's more about placement than velocity with these kinds of guys...

He needs to work on it & take more. 2 goals on 20 shots is a good % but awfully low on attempts.

I had an absolute blast from the point, despite being drafted I'm talking to you while he's prepping for next season in the NHL and he wasn't drafted. I think he'll be ok haha!

So a few sabres fans are disscussing

To Buff

Stastny
1st overall

To A vs

Myers
Grigorenko
Miller
Buffalo 1st this yr and next

That's a pretty good offer

Doesn't Yandle lead the league or close to it in turnovers every season?

I think that's a steal for Avs. That trade makes them a playoff team instantly. It makes Buffalo a better team in 2017.

Exactly

Miller for Statsny is fairly even

So Grigo, Myers and 2 top 10 picks for 1st overall. I do that if I'm the avs
