I'd definitely do that trade. We need some more toughness.

Burrows could translate for him.

Yeah and an extra 1 million dollars and longer contact we have to pay for in Luongo on top of giving up a great prospect in Nino and some you bafoons saying Strome too. Is this something Wang would do? Spend morer money give up two blue chip prospects for 3-4 years of Luongo? I'm arguing with myself? You're all out of your minds.

This is hilarious.

and pay a million more and have a contract for a longer term AND more importantly give up 2 blue chip prospects in the process. Yeah, that's good buisness, if you're a Canucks fan
- Cptmjl

What happened to you NEED to reach the cap floor? That logic doesn't apply with Lu ?

First I asked you for a link to Mckenzie saying that DP and Nino for Luongo would be a fleecing. You failed to show me a link to this.
- hankthetank

Someone copied and pasted it on our thread. I don't tweet or whatever the hell it's called. Go facking look for it if you need proof. It's there. It was either him or Dreger not that i need either of them to tell me that it's an ridiculously stupid deal that will never happen.

Instead they would rather buy out DP and then spend more money on another UFA goalie?
- hankthetank

Wang would rather not buy out DP at all & let him stay in the AHL till he retires.

And when Barkers stock was still high enough only 2 years ago, he got Nick Leddy. Are you suggesting Nino's stock has fallen as far as Barkers? Dude, that's still 3 or 4 years away. Nino is fine as a top prospect, maybe not top 5 draft pick worthy (thought that was a reach in the first place), but somewhere between the 10 or 15 slot. He'll be fine.

Wow, that's a considerable sarcasm miss.

I was replying to someone whether it be you or some other delusional person on here about how desperate Wang is to get DP's contract off the books of which he is not. Stop playing the intelligent card pal bcs when you say Nino, Strome, and DP for Luongo you lose all credibility.

You're combining what all the other posters have said and rolling it into your response to me. I have never included anyone other than Nino, and I'm not even sure that he is the player that I would want if I were the GM negotiating the trade.

If you think that paying a player $4.5 million to be a backup in the AHL is better value than paying your starting goalie for an NHL team $6.67 million I just don't know what to say.

Was it? Were you not trying to say that Nino's draft spot should have no influence on what his value is, using Barker as an example?

Logic overload here. Please cease and desist.
- AlexF

OK guys, it's been real. What are you going to do when Gillis gets jack shat for Luongo and buys him out? Will you still have a logic overload?

I never said that. You can be assured there will be at least 1 top prospect or pick coming back in a Lu for DP deal however.

You Isles fans seem to think that Wang wants to pay Dipietro for the life of his contract to not play.
- golfingsince

You seem to think he wouldn't! LOFL

Nobody is saying that. Nobody is giving up Nino for Luongo and you're debating if you'd want it. If you get a dman thing for him count your blessings. I like the guy, i think he's good but Nobody least of all Snow is giving up as much as Nino for Luongo. Think what you want but reality will be hitting all of you guys in the face in about a month. I'll stop back then to continue this convo

Oh, so you want a starting goalie in the NHL for an AHL backup with a similar contract. Hold on to that dream, Milbury may get a job yet.
- golfingsince

we'd like to sign one as a stop gap as a UFA while we see what we have in our goalie prospects. That'll cost us nothing in assets. Thanks!

The argument that came was that Nino was a shoe-in for greateness because he was a high draft pick. Barker was a example that it's obviously not always the case.

Then it wont be from the Isles. SNow wont trade his prospects for anything especially a goalie with that kind of contract.

I'm not and you should'nt be. I'll stop by again in a month and check in with you guys. What are you guys going to say when you get a second rd pick and a conditiional 4th in the following year if Luongo gets a team to the playoffs? Can't wait to copy and paste this whole thread.

you can want whatever you want, but when you're trying to move an asset that has no value due to his contract, you can't get anything. Thanks for playing. If Luongo could have been moved earlier, he would have been. Now he'll be a buy out.

These comment threads are going to explode with fans from all other teams you've linked to Luongo when that happens.

It's all fine and dandy what the fans want. See the countless posts on here about buying out everyone. Ownership does have a say in the matter however, and i'm pretty sure they want playoff revenue and no dead salary on the books.

Fair enough.
I think it''ll be Bailey, Dipietro and a 2nd for Luongo. There, that's my rumour.
