I do all the shopping in our family. The only food my wife buys is takeout. It's for the best.
- hscesq

She does the shopping and I do the cooking, working from home does have it's disadvantages too.

I guess it depends on the goalie, really. I think he can be better in a few years. He knows his weaknesses and I'm hoping he's smart enough to work on em.
I dont know though. Goalies are weird. I'm just being optimistic and hoping he's a late bloomer

- UsernameUnknown

Fair enough he needs to get some tennis balls and Milo raonic and starting catching them cause he can't seem to catch a puck

yup - surprising but true

A friend is a real estate developer. he took me to an industry golf tourney a few years ago, and I got talking to a guy who knew a guy at Shoppers.

Apparently the story is that when Shoppers first started expanding their stores, they got a lot of resistance from existing supermarket tenants in malls across Ontario.

It pissed them off so much that they decided to make some key grocery staples as loss-leaders - just to stick it to the grocery stores.

Milk is the #1 product on the list.

I swear, Bryers gourmet ice cream is always there, too.

Love when that happen or they put it on the wrong shelf with multiples. Sir this water cooler is 200 dollars not according to the price on the shelf. Heres your 5 dollars

reno'd my bathroom last summer. went with Mozaic tile. Didn't want to spend too much cause we're doing a ton of renos.

Anyway, found a nice glass mosaic, regular about $11sq/ft. on "clearance" for $6sq/ft.

so we say WTH and take as much as we need. Get to cash, and she rings it in. Ask me "so, these are $1 right?"

"uh....suuuure?" I say.

"I mean... ya they were on Clearance shelf and there wasn't a price, so if that's what it says..."

total for the tile was $60.
spent less on tile than I did on Grout and glue

Mine works from home a couple days a week. She could work there 24/7 and she still wouldn't boil water.

I'm now "a member", but still not a huge fan.

I don't want to buy 24 croissants at once.

I don't want 16 lbs of butter.

Electronics aren't any cheaper than BestBuy, although they do give you an extra year of warranty.

And it's too depressing to have to walk by their take out food counter after you buy your stuff, and see the over-fed hogs munching away at the trough. Children should not be eating hot dogs larger than their legs. Even if it is $2 a dog.

Yeah, I agree big-time. he's not perfect, but he's getting better. I noticed early in his career he had bad positioning problems often. he's calmed down and fixed that, which shows he's capable of bettering himself. he fixes his glove hand (which he's actually shown improvement on already) and his rebounds, he'll be good to go.

I've got about 700 sq ft of laminate stacked up in my basement good stuff too.

took it out of our living/dining and kitchen. Refinished the original Oak underneath, and put Cork in the kitchen.

$3k total costs, and have "brand new floors" on entire ground floor, plus more than enough to redo the basement

we both work from home, I was trained by chefs, and she still does 80% of the cooking.

except for BBQ nights... she's not allowed to tough it, and she knows.

I'm still sorting that out.

A friend tells me it's great if you are having a party - go up there and load up on meat for the bbq and crap like that.

Yeah, right.

When we have friends over, it's usually a frantic 2 hour rush to grab something - anything - and make sure the kids haven't pooped on the floor in the bathrooms.

I don't have time to go to Costco (which is not conveniently located anywhere close to midtown Toronto).

I think last time I was there, it was a 48 pack of juice boxes for the kids, some arts and craft supplies for the kids, and some athletic socks for me. Not exactly worth the 40 minutes and $80 in gas to get there.
