No mention of ColboUrne? I thought he seemed to be gaining more confidence as the games went on. - dragus84
Was just who was on the Marlies to finish the season, I believe Colborne will stay, if he resigns as a RFA. |

hard to prove a guy wrong who doesnt say anything
the only fact you have stated is bozak gets lots of ice time
and you keep obnoxiously repeating that, its comparable to listening to a braying mule in heat - Dozzer
Just keep reminding him that Gardiner was third in minutes last year (11/12) ....and was 2nd in ice time in the playoffs. |

Kadri was 47 percent on the draw. which means he wins 5 less out of 100 than bozak. Granted Bozak was taking most of his faceoffs against number 1 centers, but I think faceoffs will be a big emphasis during Kadri's offseason.
again, Bozak is serviceable but certainly not irreplaceable - dragus84
more Bozak Faceoff discussion
Bozak takes 23 faceoffs a game and won 52.6%
So he wins 12 out of 23 FO a game (52.2%) roughly
Kadri won 44.2% or about 10 out of 23 (43.5%) if he had taken the same amount.
I know Bozak probably faced the other teams best FO men. But lets assume Kadri can improve just a little and win 11 out of every 23 (47.8%) while facing the same players, 1 Faceoff loss a game differnce is not much.
Now if Bozak can win say 58-60% and be one of the leagues best, maybe we can see the value in his FO abilities.

I read somewhere (can't remember the site) that Eakins thinks the Leafs should give a good look at camp to D'Amigo, Ashton, Blacker and Scott (don't know why he was mentioned, he is UFA). - LeafMan
this.. exactly this
you let guys like bozak walk when they start to ask for too much.. thats what having a solid development system is about.. to replace serviceable players with serviceable players
it is time to start giving guys like that a look.. honestly.. i feel D'amigo could do just as good a job as MacArthur (with a tiny bit of a learning curve) |

agreed, a poop half season for grabo in a role that isnt met for his style of play/ skill set. he was ok at it, but hes much more valuable to the team in a production role. if he can put up 55-60 pts with kulemin and macarthur i have no doubt he will do well in a full season with legit top 6 wingers. - big_dion
RC has to use him better. Agreed the role he played this season, just wasnt for him. |

Bozak could probably land a decent 2nd/3rd line gig somewhere. I'd like a 3rd line centre with a little more truculence though so it's time to pass.
If there's any truth to the idea that he's looking for more than 4+ million per year then he should read the autobiography of Dominic Moore. |

no.. the leafs should give their young guys prime opportunities so that in two or three years they will actually be successful in those roles.
this team is not a contender.. saying anything else is plain foolishness.. keep building.. you cant start trying to build the fourth story of a house before the third story is complete so to speak - Dozzer
Over the next two to three years our scorers will be in their prime! Not three - fours years from now.
Kadri needs to learn from someone. |

The only defensive centre I see with potential at this moment with the Marlies is Sam Carrick, he was great with the Battalion, captain, good leader, sound defensively and scrappy player, coached by Stan Butler who knows how to teach defence. |

Can't be afraid of a bold move. When you think about all of the options the Leafs have to realistically acquire a top line centre - trading youth (for youth) may be the best option. |

think he's ready for a look at the top?
i like carrick's game a lot too.. sometimes i wonder about him is can he keep his scrappyness at bay.. from the few games i saw with him late in the year he looks like a bit of a wild card.. might go off at the wrong time type thing... but thats the type of thing age will teach
and i say late in the year because i dont remember him being with the marlies to start the year... ECHL i think? not certain |
