Are there any centers in the draft that you feel can adapt their game to wing? I know its not that easy for players, but I remember Parise was drafted as a center and developed into a winger. - rmdevil313
I think, in general, the smaller faster guys switch better to wing |

Agreed, but you also get those like Lokti who are undersized for center, yet still play better there. |

If we take ELIAS LINDHOLM.... I will flip out. No more Swedes please. Take a damn goal top 6 goal scorer.
In 2 to 3 seasons, our top 6 should be good.

if either Monahan or shinkuruk is available at pick 9. they have to be the pick. if both are gone, trade down a few picks, grab a 2nd or 3rd in the deal and take rychel. team needs goal scorers, if kovy learned how to play defense anybody can. |

I don't get why everyone thinks we need to trade down and get him because they are so in love. I will admit I have only seen a very small sample size from him but I was seriously not impressed in the way that I would say yea lets trade down he is our guy. I don't think he is someone who can create anything on his own in the NHL and is more of a straight forward player and needs to be giving a play rather then make one on his own we might as well go for the absolute best guy we can get, we wont have a pick next year lets get some one who is dynamic and doesn't need his linemates to being carry all the weight, someone who can create plays all by himself even if the rest of his line mates are in a slump or not showing up. just my $0.02 |

Josefson won't be the top 6 center we had hoped, but he has great speed, smarts, and a well developed defensive game. He'll be good in our bottom 6. |

The thinking that we should stay away from swedes is blown out of proportion. Teddy was ruined by playing 5 mins a night and given a tight leash. JJ has been injured too much, but still looks like he'll be a useful player. Larsson is only 20. The issues from these players are not a result of the SEL. If the best player available is an SEL player, we need to take him. |

I agree. If somehow both Lindholm and Shinkaruk are there at 9. I think I'd be quite torn on which of the two I'd prefer |

What do you think about Havlat if the Sharks buy him out I would give him a try for cheap and he might actually want to come here with him and Elias being pretty good friends |

Havlet might be a good option after a buyout. Others I would consider Heatley, Ryan Malone. |

Hunter Shinkaruk would be a HUGE reach for NJ to take at #9. I think he is a reach to be a 1st round pick at all. Don't get me wrong - the kid has talent BUT defensively the kid is horrible, just horrible. He doesn't know what to do when he doesn't have the puck. Add to that his size limitations (not as big as a deal as it once was) I just don't think he is NJ's 1st pick. He would be a GREAT 2nd round pick.
If NJ is looking for pure scoring Kerby Rychel is a much better option. So is Alexander Wennberg and Bo Horvat - all 3 will be taken long before Shinkaruk. - edge100
I'm not sure where you get this from. I think he's actually rather smart in his own zone.

I'm not real high on anyone after 5th... think we're pretty much getting a second liner no matter what. |

Devils fans, would you move Josefsson for Vancouver's first rd pick?
It should be around 23 or 24.
Thoughts? |

i would, i dont see him being more than a 3rd liner, but he is responsible in all zones
doubt it happens |

I would think Gillis would explore it if it was there. A lot of it would depend on who was available at the pick, but I would think a 22 yr old who is NHL ready would be appealing |

josefson has a pretty big injury history already in his short time in the NHL so far but when he has been on the ice he has looked good, very defensive reliable, pass first center rarely shoots but i do think his offensive game will grow |

A lot of his injuries have just been bad luck though. I don't think it will be a huge factor throughout his career. I would take that trade though |

I think any established scoring threat would be welcome, but for the right price. Injuries and inconsistencies are a problem, but we can't expect the Butler and D'agostini types to take top 6 roles. |
