MacKinnon is great, but he plays a simpler, much less cerebral game than Crosby. He's in my mind closer to Ovechkin's "get pucks to the net at all costs" mentality than Crosby (not that he's particularly close to Ovechkin, but just to show you how little his game compares to Crosby). My go-to comparison is Taylor Hall meets Jonathan Toews.

been trying to make this argument, a D like Jones who can still hold his own as potential #1 in a year with 2-3 incredible likely future elite NHL offensive talents is incredible, its not like all the other D that have been drafted high lately, there hasnt been this much excitement for a D in over 20 years imo

so even if 99% of the time Mack is the clear pick, Jones seems to be that 1% where you SHOULD pick the D imo
