of course he should. any GM that doenst should be fired. Every GM will inquire and see what it would take. Obviously its going to be the farm, but who knows. Maybe Roy over values some of our prospects.

Avs need D...so i would take a guess it would take 2 first rounders, Reinhart and another B prospect.

or a roster spot player, possibly grabner...

Yeah I'm sure CBJ would love that, but no GM on earth is trading a top 3 pick for a bunch of later picks with guys like Jones, Drouin and MacKinnon are available for the taking.
- eichiefs9

well to be honest, It would probably take more. It would have to be a trade that a GM couldnt turn down. 3 picks + Erixon, and now you have conversation.

Or, the Avs need D..so they could keep the pick and draft the most highly regarded defenseman in years.

That wouldn't do it either. If I told you in 2009 that we should trade the Tavares pick for the 14th overall, two picks in the bottom third of the first round, and a pretty good defensive prospect...you would have, rightfully so, thought I was nuts.

We hear this too often. Every year it is the most highly rated player in years. Remember Hedman was the next Pronger? I would take Mackinnon before Jones.

But we wouldn't be surprised with Snow and his habits of trading down. Thank God he didn't in 2009

im not saying theyre gonna trade the pick, im just making conversation about what it would take. thats all.

speaking of that... ive been doing a ton of reading...All ive heard is that Jones is def #1...im getting a sneaking suspicion its mackinnon. I dont know why. Just have a gut feeling.

They will want more than that and I don't think its worth. Were talking Strome, Bailey and this years first for starters

I don't ever recall reading anywhere that Hedman was the next Pronger, and I'm a pretty big draft junkie. Jones is projected to be far better than Hedman ever was.

And for the record I'd take Drouin over both of them.

I do, but admittedly I am not into the draft much when we are not in the top five (which isn't often). SO this year I have not put much stock into the draft class but I do remember Hedman being touted as the next Pronger.

I know, but it doesn't make sense for anyone to pay the high price it would take to get that pick and it doesn't make sense for the Avs to trade for anything less than a king's ransom. If the Avs want D, they can select a stud prospect in Jones. And I'm not selling the farm to get a pick that, while highly regarded, isn't a sure thing.

Its pretty crazy how good all top 3 are. I still take NMac over Drouin.

They all project to be exceptional players. Jones is the biggest roll of the dice as a defenseman, but could become the biggest payoff if he pans out. Defenseman are a total crapshoot.

Wait until the 2015 draft, when Connor McDavid is eligible. That's gonna be a monster sweepstakes. Maybe Ekblad next year also.

I totally agree...at that point it doesnt even make sense for the Avs to trade it. I just have a lot of fun doing draft trade scenarios

So, speaking of the draft, who do u want the isles to take? Im actually hoping Pulock drops to them. He's my man on my wish list.

Now you're speaking my language. Pulock would certainly be nice.

Zadorov, Horvat, Domi. Are all realistic options. I'd wet myself if Darnell Nurse fell to us.

Speaking of Horvat/Domi...

Also, ive been hearing some decent talk about justin bailey. Granted, thats gonna give butchie an absolute heart attack, but he seems to be a bigger sized winger, which for the love of god, the team needs one.

Mini-Martin? No way...Domi doesn't possess a single trait the old man had, he's pure skill. More like St. Louis than Matt Martin.

Meh, he'll be a 2nd-3rd rounder. It would be a cool pick because he played for the Royals and lived with Laffer on the Island but it won't be anything groundbreaking. Corey Pronman over at Hockey Prospectus has him ranked 51st overall.

He does have nice size though.

That's right Isles fans, MSG's BRANDS and Dolan's teams will be brought to the 'heart of Long Island.' And a knife will be thrust into Isles fans' hearts everywhere.

Where the legendary banners of a Stanley Cup dynasty once hung will be MSG BRANDS, Rangers, Knicks, Liberty and a 'minor league Rangers' affiliate.'

This is the Dolan plan -- wipe out the New York Islanders on Long Island. Strip the history from Uniondale and replace it with a new Ranger foothold.

I'm saddened and sick at the thought. Just sick.
