You know...every read is a lot more interesting with some pics to ilustrate it haha

So we'll have to wait until saturday to watch a hockey game? Why hold on for so long?...not good.

- Orpik44

Boston Garden is not available to be played in Sunday or Monday, so evidently they would rather have an 8 day lay off than have 2 days between games 3-4.

That's when Alfie and Karlsson went and played golf at Oakmont between games in Pittsburgh I just heard that info leak out today.

To be honest though if this avoids day games for the rest of the year im all for it.

Karlsson: "We don't have a chance against the Pens"
Alfredsson: "Yeah, you're right. Let's go golfing bro"

If Krug didn't score those four goals against the Rags, he would be the one coming out of the lineup. You had a guy that got shots through the Rags defense and on goal. That, he was very effective in doing versus the Rags. I wouldn't expect him to score four this series.
- Oneonta Penguin

So, let me get this straight: your argument is that Krug's only in the lineup because he's been producing and playing well while facing a very good shot-blocking team and the (not very arguably) best goalie in the world?

In that case, the only reason Crosby wasn't in the AHL this year is because he was scoring some goals here and there and assisting on a few others from time to time.

I didn't even know they still existed. Many guys here could be a part of it considering their age.

I saw that earlier and couldn't figure out what the big deal was or why it was even brought up. They had two days off, should they have just stayed in the hotel or went to a movie?

I can tell you right now I would have done the same thing as Karlsson and Alfredsson, complete non issue given the spaced out scheduling of round 2.

yeah thats a little unnecessary. this board is forced to endure countless moronic comments from other teams fans, and they are usually given a fair amount of leeway. unfortunate it wasnt returned for him

yeah, i see nothing wrong with what they did. its not like they went on a coke binge. sometimes a mental break can be just as important as buckling down. id think after so many years in the league, alfredsson can be trusted to do what he feels he needs to. a total non issue

I have no idea why he was banned or by who, or even where the thread is, but when Montreal was mentioned, I had a flashback of this one time not long ago when a Habs ref was in the Flyers blog threatening to ban people while he was actually doing a fair bit of trolling... It was amusing to say the least.

at the risk of sounding totally uninformed, i really dont know much about how the whole mod/banning thing works, as far as how someone goes about getting to be one or what not. i know for a fact that i love going into blogs of other teams, especially when this one gets slow. ive typically found nothing but people who like to have good conversation. i really dont see the point in people simply trying to incite other people.
for what its worth though, canadianpenfan has always been pretty fair with other people coming in here, and if someone gets too much he seems to tell them first before just banning them. thats how it should be. for someone to just kick someone off the website entirely seems a little ridiculous

Nope, neither do I. But I do know that if a site wants to maintain a community, there better be a real good reason for banning someone.

And yes, cpf seems to be quite even-handed. To be honest, most of the refs I've come across are good and reasonable. Only 1 has a question mark beside him because of past experience, but maybe I caught him on a bad day.

yeah. i definitely understand their importance because some people are just out to be pains in the asses and ruin it for everyone, but the position requires a lack of bias obviously or else it borderlines on being pathetic

I'm curious to see how Jagr plays in this series.

I watched most of the games from the Rangers series and Jagr spent a lot of time on his butt. I don't think I have ever seen him knocked down as much or (what appeared to be) as easily.

Wonder if the long rest will make a difference for him.

Despres has the frame to match up on Jags and to skate with him too.

true. but realistically he wont see the ice. the forwards are going to have to be defensively responsible with this team for sure. cant realistically expect guys like nisky and murray to take on boston's guns without any help

This is going to be a brutal series. I really look forward to the 2 best teams in the East playing for a chance to represent the finals. I will be rooting for whoever moves on but guessing Pens in 6 but think it could go 7.

Also hoping for Kings and Blackhawks in the West. I feel this year will be the best Stanley Cup in years especially if it's Pens- Blackhawks

I'm really hoping for Pens/Hawks. Two dominant offensive teams going toe to toe. Yes the ECF will be a tough series. A great defensive team vs a great offensive team. I really believe it comes down to the Pens commitment to team defense. I saw positive progression in that regard in the last series, but it's hard to tell how far they've come because Ottawa was less than an offensive juggernaut.

I'll say it again... I don't think it can be undersold how good James Neal looked those last couple of games. He finally looks like he's shed the effects of his head and leg injuries.
