I don't think it will be the focal point of the series. But it would be interesting to see Iginla pound someone if they try to egg him on.
- jmatchett383

He went with Horton towards the end of the season when we played and of course Horton hurt himself.

If this is your motivation, Boston will lose the series in four or five.

I don't buy the whole make Iginla pay notion that the local media around here are trying to spin. He had a choice to play where he wanted and he chose Pitt. Sure it left a sour taste in Boston fans mouths, but it was his decision. Boston should be more concerned with neutralizing Pitts top 2 lines. I think it would be wise to play Chara and Seidenberg against the Malkin line and let Bergeron battle with Crosby.

Staying out of the box is going to be key for Boston to succeed especially the games in Pitt. The Bruins powerplay is beginning to click so it is imperative that they make it count when Pitt goes on the PK.

Should be great series with a lot of nastiness. Bruins in 6

True. But unfortunately for Boston, they need to worry more about that Malkin guy and the Sid dude.

Also, another key matchup:

Sidney Crosby vs. a playoff beard

He's actually sort of growing one. But there's a large sorta-circular patch of his left cheek that's fighting hard to join the rest.

- jmatchett383

Check out Dupuis he's at the opposite end of the spectrum. He grew a playoff beard while he was putting his equipment on for game1 against the Islanders

Well, he's no Shea Weber but, yeah, he's got it going on.

Never expect the media to pass on a gossip-rag type story instead of discussing actual hockey theory in regards to any game or series...

I'll be curious to see. I don't think we had Malkin this year when we played and they loaded up against sid's line. Getting away from Bergeron is tough enough but then running in to Chara after is tiring. Should be fun to watch

I'd think Cooke would be a better match. I'd be interested to see which would get the other to take a stupid penalty sooner. Not a knock on Cooke, just acknowledging the type of game both players can play and what they can do to others.
- jmatchett383

I'd rather use Cooke for Seguin TK can hustle with Marchand all day long

Joey V would fit that mold as well. Doubt we see him to begin though

How about the fact that the Penguins went over Dallas to pick up Morrow and left Jagr there? I'd think he might have felt a bit slighted..

Joe V is the type of guy you wanna see on te ice everytime for your 4th line. If he only played a bit of PK....

Yeah, I don't think the Boston players care about Iginla at all, at least regarding the trade mishap. I think Jagr will have more of an impact on the series. He's in a cryo bed right now resting up.

This is the PERFECT series for Morrow and Iginla to thrive. The Bruins are a very slow team.

Prepare yourselves now, Jagr will have a huge goal against us.

I think it is unfair to say the Bruins are a very slow team. They have a number of speedy players throughout their lineup. Seguin, Marchand, Thornton, Paille, and Peverley are all fast and can win races to lose pucks. Lucic is a very underrated skater, people assume because of his size he is slow which is not true. When he gets going North to South he is fast as well as physically imposing, same goes for Horton.

Also with the additions of Krug and Bartkowski the Bruins backend has picked up some much needed mobility. Boychuck is a pretty slick skater as well.

I can't remember the exact scenario...but pretty sure Colby Armstrong's nose broke somebody's hand...

Fedotenko did bust up his hand in this fight...

Your exactly right there, but when your guys heal up those 2 will be the first to go to the pressbox.
Chara vs Crosby is a very bad matchup for Chara.

You're right Crosby is definitely faster and more agile than Chara, but Chara's ability to use his stick effectively will give Crosby fits IMO. For a guy his size he does a tremendous job of hiding his stick and where he is going to go with it. Crosby is going to need to take advantage of the transition game against Chara because once they get bottled down near the goal Chara will use his size and stick.

Once Ference is healthy I think Bartkowski comes out of the lineup. I can't see a scenario where Krug comes out. He has finally sparked some life into a rather atrocious powerplay. His speed and awareness of when to jump into the play will lead to more offense out of the Bruins.

I'm really itching to get this series going.

This is pretty much it. In all seriousness, the 2 captains will be the best part of this series. Crosby trying to get around the size/reach of Chara will be great to watch.

Do you miss Joe Corvo much?

Chara better be careful...somehow I can see him getting some tripping penalties due to lack of speed.

Along with holding calls, it has been a problem for Chara vs Crosby since Sid came into the league.
