More importantly, who uses Bing? Haha - Gunner Staal
Ill bite. I do use it mainly because I run Windows phones and it is integrated into the OS. It isnt as bad as people make it out to be just like most Microsoft products. |

Wayne though cried the day he was traded. He didn't cry leading up to the trade and demand it. Jagr on ice performance merits a lot of praise but myself and I would think most of Pittsburgh won't be able to get over his off the ice antics. The way the Philly signing played out which to me I was angry but not that big of a deal, him not showing up for the cup teams reunions golf games. When I look up and remember pens greats and tell my kids about it I want to tell them about a man I respect. He garners none from me.
And I only look at things from a fan perspective just to be clear. I unfortunately am not employed by the organization or am in no way a hockey professional. Full disclosure - dbell646
I pretty much agree with all of this. I look at Jagr the way I imagine SF fans look at Terrell Owens. Great player, instrumental in helping the team on the field/ice, but neither was particularly interested in building a "legacy" with their respective teams. |

I would have loved it if Jagr pulled a sharpie out of his skate and signed the puck after he scored. |

People confuse the later Jagr with the earlier Jagr.
Early on in his career, Jagr was embraced by the city of Pittsburgh more than Lemieux. While Lemieux was quietly sipping wine with Natalie out in Sewickley, cordoned off from the throng, Jagr was living it up all over Pittsburgh. Undergoing the Czech to Pittsburghese transformation, popping up in bars all over the city, and showing off his personality, that was young, outgoing, and just having fun playing hockey.
Later, he clearly got frustrated with the franchise, and rightfully so. It was a mess, due to Howard Baldwin's epic mismanagement. He wasn't the first asset to get shipped out for a song.
While his attitude suffered, his play never did. Even while he was "dying alive" his final season, he was ringing up 50+ goals and 120+ points.
Pittsburgh loved Jagr. It shows every time his name comes up as a possible acquisition. |

All of this is spot on.
But I think a lot changed last year when he put on that Flyers jersey and the way he did it. |

I have my reservations about how things actually went down with the latest "Jagr Watch" comparatively to someone's account of what happened IE: Rossi sensationalizing the whole process. |

I don't disagree with this. Like I said earlier obviously I was upset but I didn't really think it was a huge deal. Rossi needed a story and he found one. |

Seeing as though Jagr isnt bankrupt nor lacking a plan for financial gain in the future (owning hockey team) he appears to not need to subject himself to such a thing. |

I never got that from Jags, I always thought he was a pretty good guy. Minus his actions last year with the whole Philly signing, I never thought he was a jerk at all. I have his jersey hanging in my man cave (right next to Matthew Barnaby, but that's a different story). The ONLY problem I have with Jags is as reported last year via- Mark Madden that Mario Lemieux was visibly angry about the Jagr situation. |

My dislike stems soley from the way he left. I mean not coming back last year hurt I wanted one of my idols growing up to come back and redeem himself and not attending gold outings with the guys he won a cup with is douchery but to each his own Also seeing him in a philly jersey made me hate him a little more |

Jagr's famous "dying alive" statement I have heard was taken out of context and he was referring to how he was preforming, not how he felt about the team or the city. |

The Oilers have retired Coffey, Kurri, Messier, Anderson, and Fuhr's numbers. All guys who bounced all over the league after they left Edmonton.
I have no issues with the Penguins retiring #68.
As for the problem with the Hab's having so many retired numbers, that is what happens when you have been around for 100 years and have had a litany of names to retire. It's not their fault those players wore the 1-30 numbers 40 years before Subban, Galchenyuk and Gallagher were born. |
