What a terrible call. Let the players finish the game. Who cares if they are roughing each other at the blueline away from the play.
- Ben37

To me it looked like it should have been a penalty on Detroit and not Chi. Hawks got screwed there.

Wow, if Detroit ends up winning this it will be one of the all-time screw jobs.

Either way whoever plays LA has their work cut out for them. Quick looked amazing last night.

Id still say Buffalo got screwed worse by Dallas since that was the SCFs, but yeah, this will be up there.

Yep. No Wings fan can ever say anything about a conspiracy for other teams to succeed.

He threw a punch up but never did the ref put his hand up to call Detroit. So it was a penalty only when Chicago reacted? Complete BS garbage officiating strike again

Yeah, I'm sure Sabres fans agree I always hated that crease rule, I guess I overlook that one a little bit.

The replay from behind shows the ref blowing the whistle before the goal was scored. Crazy turn of events, but the right call.

I'd be sick if I were a Hawks fan. I'm damn near irate about the Nats blowing a 4 run lead to the O's in a regular season baseball game. Can't imagine if that happened to the Caps in a playoff game.

I disagree. It was 4 on 4. The players are responsible for not getting caught up during the play. He blew it down while a play was on and there wasn't anything harsh about it. Nothing at all. The game should be over and it isn't now. If Detroit wins and I'm the Blackhawks I am filing a grievance with the league.

Based on hockey the call sucked. It was behind the play and his arm needed to go up right away on Detroit but it didn't. Then he calls both? Complete BS and if you're watching this game the refs have let things go.

It's bullpoop though. Why does he have to be calling that in the final minutes of a Game 7. Let the players settle it in that situation. The other ref was going too. He signaled goal.

I'm not saying the penalties should have been called, I'm saying that the ref was blowing his whistle before the goal is scored. The actual penalties are bullcrap, the taking back of the goal was correct.

Right in regards to "He was about to blow the whistle"

Certainly not right in the "that was a good call" department.

If it's not a scoring chance, no one says anything about penalties like that. The ref is looking at the scrum, not the play when he is blowing his whistle. Like I said, crazy turn of events, but the ref did what he's supposed to.

Detroit was essentially rewarded for mugging a Hawks player at the bench, I think that's what everyone is pissed about.

Right in regards to "He was already blowing the whistle"

Certainly not right in the "that was a good call" department.

Why didn't he have a arm up though? If he didn't call anything until Saad threw a punch why did Detroit get a call? Just bad

I've said the penalties were bull. But do you really expect a ref to give a PP to a team with under 2 minutes in a tied game 7?

Not arguing about the call, because I think they were crap, but if you watch the replay where it shows the entire rink from behind, you can see the refs move his hand up to his mouth 2 seconds before the goal is scored.
