It's been 4 years for that core and even longer for Morrow and Iginla...I don't think it's completely crazy to think that. The Rags have severe problems in that room. Toronto was the real test and it was barely passed. - glove_was_stuck
The key matchup with be the Neal, Malkin, Iglina line against your 2nd defensive pairing. |

Why are you getting so defensive? Are you suggesting that Chara and Lucic are the caliber of player Crosby and Malkin? Chara and Lucic are great and good players respectively, and while I think Chara is a hall of famer one day I don't think anyone would suggest he's the same type of star Crosby or Malkin is.
Do Chara and Lucic get more calls than a third pairing defenseman and a fourth line winger? Of course. But it's all relative.
By making defensive statements like this you suggest their is something wrong with star players getting calls. I think the whole point of my initial post was there is nothing wrong with that. - TheGreatNumber8
What's wrong is when somebody comes to our board to say they "only lost because of a BS call". That's where the problem relies. It's hard for an average fan to admit they are worse and they deserved to lose.
Chara has been the best d-man in the league for years. I could say his a parameter. I'd rather be defensive than offensive. I don't do that on other teams threads. I wish nothing but a good series for all of us |

Some good acid huh? Young kids played great in the semis nothing tape or gum about it. Thats what is called depth. - glove_was_stuck
They played great against the Rangers. The Rangers and the Penguins are to very different teams when it comes to the Bruins end of the ice. The Rangers struggle to score goals at the best of times.
I am not taking anything away from the kids that played well. They did, Krug has been fun to watch. Just don't bank on them having the same success in shutting down Crosby and Co. |

This will be all about patience. Who makes less mistakes wins. I'm looking at you Geno, Neal and Nisky ...Let's go Pens! |

Not only eliminated but we have the worst goalie and defense of all NHL. |

Pretty true. Pens did a nice job in the regular season just staying focused. In the game Sutter scored a pair it was late in the game. Boston plays very steady and sound game. Take the chances that present themselves and don't put yourself out of position trying to make something happen (Letang). Also very important to walk away from the scrums and certainly keep your head up. Should be fun. |

Anyone have an answer for why the pens would get the 77th overall pick (minnys from dallas) instead of the 68th overall pick (edms from dallas). I thought it iwas the lower of the two for the Morrow-Morrow trade?
Im already looking at our 1st pick (3rd rd) and who they would go after lol. $100 buck says its a D
Then again we can get two 1st rd picks when letang and fleury gets traded!! |

Dude, I would feel much better if Pittsburgh had Boston's defense. Defensively, they are more sound. That is the truth. Our style of play doesn't lend to much defense - really.
We beat Boston all three games - yes. They were close as well. That said, in all three games Lucic didn't give a poop. He seems to care now. Don't dismiss that.
No matter how you break it down - Boston has an edge defensively; Pittsburgh offensively. There is a perceived edge in goal to Boston, but Rask has looked like Fleury a few times versus the Rags. He can be had.
The regular-season meetings get thrown out the window. If they don't, then explain why Chicago is having a problem with Detroit. Chicago swept the season series I believe.
This is going to be a long series - a war. If both teams play their best, Pittsburgh should prevail in six IMO. - Oneonta Penguin
sums it up pretty well I'd say |
