As long as Darcy is running the show in Buffalo, we will NEVER win the cup! - Sabresfan88
I've been saying that for years. |

16 years is enough sampling!
I he couldn't win it for that long, why should we believe that suddenly he is going to turn it around and build a team that wins the cup?????
All of us plus Pegula are in a very deep coma!
1st move needed to turn this franchise around is to get rid of the CANCER = Darcy

I don't think its that bad. I don't believe you have to suck royal wang and scoop up all these top picks to be competitive for the cup. Yes its been proven that formula can work, but we aren't the chosen ones this time around. They just need to make more solid choices all the way around. - Buffalo--Sabres
I just go back to the end of the season news conference where Darcy pointed put how top picks are what are needed. Also, Darcy needs to get top 5 picks, the obvious ones so even you could make the right choice.
Something big is going to happen at this draft for the Sabres. Just bring this message back up the day after. |

I doubt it very much.
Darcy does not have the cohones to pull out a big trade in this draft!
I wouldn't even get my hopes up if I were you.
Sorry to be negative!
I just have no trust in this bozo anymore!
There is only one move I want the Sabres to make: GET RID OF DARCY ASAP.

I feel the same way about Darcy, but Pegula is the one with the cohones to force him to make big moves. I'm not betting on the Sabres getting into the top 5 but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. With Miller, Vanek, two 1sts and two 2nds, the Sabres have a lot of amo so I think this draft is going to be very interesting. |

It is all good that you feel that way.
After 16 years of failure by Darcy, I just have no faith in him anymore.
He has never put a championship team together, and he NEVER will.
Time for a new GM.

I've wanted Darcy gone for years, probably longer then you have. He's not going this year but maybe, just maybe he has finally realized that Staffords, Ennis's, Roy's, Connoly's etc aren't going to get them to the promised land. Maybe he will have his balls massaged by Pegula and finally make some big moves.
He was never as open about what the team needs to win before. He pointed out the need for blue chip, high draft picks. Now we'll see if that was just talk. |

since TP took control- darcy has made plenty of bold moves. im not saying they were the right moves- and i want him gone as much as the next guy- but he can pull the trigger. |

When do the Sabres pick a new captain anyways?
EDIT: If it's around the same time as when Pommers was named, it won't be till around the beginning of October. But it could be sooner I suppose. |

True, I honestly think he will be named captain if he stays. I'm not saying he SHOULD be, but I'm fairly certain that will be the case. |

GARTH: Stars Getting Ruff? - garth
i can't see the Avs taking anyone other than Jones, aside from being EXACTLY what they need, they also have Michael Sgarbossa who had an amazing rookie season in the AHL, another center |

Hall is the only one who seems to stay relatively healthy, I hear Canadian medicine is building RNH a pair of new shoulders using stem cell research (illegal in the united states) and Yakupov is good at doing one thing, celebrating, not actually playing, like AO but minus all the goals. Eberle hasn't been all that healthy either. - MisterC This could be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard on here...and I have heard some Canuck fans say some stupid poop...
Dare I ask where you even heard this? |

I stated my opinion in the blog below that with the hiring of Roy it may no longer be a slam dunk and return home to Colorado of Seth Jones.
http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...st_id=14843&user_id=45749
Garth, I think that teams wll always look pivot first, but it is clear that MacKinnon could slide to wing for the Avs and be asked to contribute right away to generate more offense.
MacKinnon has seen the wing in international tournaments.

Except for the fact that no one but defensemen Denis Potvin has ever been drafted first overall and been able to become an impact defender.
Pronger, drafted second overall, might qualify as the best and Hedman, and Av's Erik Johnson are recent examples that might help sway Colorado away from the pick.
I understand their need to bolster their backline. I just think this draft might give them two opportunities in slot 32, and 63 to do that without passing on any of the four elite and impact forwards that will solidify their scoring for a long long time.

I wouldn't equate Myers with Jones. Myers isn't even in the top 20 even 30 dman in the league right now, The 8th pick would give the Avs the ability to draft a talented Dman as well. - GilPerreault11
No, Myers ahd the recah and was able to ascend to the pro game and look excellent on the offensive end, but is surely STILL work in progress in his own zone. (The complication was the hefty deal he got early...it didn't work out in the management's favor as he isn't the dominant three zone defender that Cap tag should have brought at his age.)
You also say that there isn't a consensus #1 overall pick right now. That isn't speaking to the weakness of the top 3 players talent, but to the strength of the top 3. - GilPerreault11
I think you are right on, that at this point a team cannot go wrong with any of the three, but history suggests centres or wings, and talented defenseman ahead of wings too.
I actually think that Jones is probably still looked at as the concensus first overall based on the long term potential: you don't get chances at big gifted back end guys who move like he does.
There is a 1A !B and ! C, because Drouin really is something too. The entire top six is really more talent than most drafts show in that tier.
( if you are interested in the tiers of this draft in relation to others, check out:
http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...er_id=45749&post_id=14847 )
There are truly seven outstanding youngster and who becomes THE best of them is not something answered in June.
I really think that if the second tier is the strongest ever seen...it will mean that teams drafted as high as slot 17 will get a talent that in most drafts is off the board at slot 5-8.
