Are you kidding? Mackinnion looks like the real deal. They both look good, but if one will bust, id put my money on drouin busting. But i think both will be stars.

I live in Halifax and have watched him play more than a dozen times live this year and you really don't know what you're talking about. Even if his skill level doesn't pan out to the potential people expect, he'll still become a solid NHLer based solely on his amazing work ethic and explosive skating. He's the best player in the draft this year without question in my mind. Jones is 11 months older and you should never draft a defenseman at #1 if there are any forwards even comparable with skill level. Drouin is a beast too but he needs another year in junior to get a million points and develop his game without the puck and get stronger before he makes the jump to the NHL.

If the avs don't take jones, i could easily see him slipping to you guys at 3rd. Florida has solid young d-men, but have poop up front, would almost be a waste for them to take jones, when they could get drouin to play with huberdeau.

my top 3 would be:

avs - mackinnon (take him, and then trade statsny or o'rielly to get a young d-man)
panthers - drouin
lightning - jones

The Panthers are trying to take a Predator's approach to their rebuild and that means starting from their defense and building up. For that reason, I don't see him falling past Florida.

Until they draft, I'm gonna hope for him. Yzerman likes BIG defensemen and this guy is that, but still plays well. You need to see some video of this guy. Murray may have his top five, but ALOT can happen between now and the Draft. We still have Combine to do and if he can show his stuff then maybe, just maybe.

after the memorial cup performace....nathan mackinnon has 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points in 2 games against seth jones so he could go 1st easily and the panthers could take drouin so wed have jones
