Okay. Your getting semantic but okay. He's not a power forward cause he didn't drive into and through the defense? And when Nash was drafted as a power forward because of plays like this it really was his "speed and skill"? Its how speed and skill are used that denotes a power forward, it's not fighting - at all, if it was there would be one guy you could call a PF, it is hitting, but not exclusively. Buff was a power forward for the Hawks because of plays just like this one, in the playoffs, net drive combined with speed and skill and a willingness to play a rough game, Lupes isn't as rough as some guys but he doesn't shy away, and his speed and skill are used just like many PF before him. - aminnes
Power forward denotes a player that hits and uses his strength to play.
poop Wussy Forward these days are guys who can protect the puck and claim they are 6'2 and above.
Not really. But he scared the crap outta players. Guys wouldn't instigate with him out there.
The question is would Lupul and co. exact the same response?
As much as I love the guy the answer is no. I see Lups as a skilled forward with some sandpaper to his game.
Which we are very, very lucky to have. - Canadian kid
He scared some guys but there weren't many guys Neely went after to fight, and there games are very similar when you watch Neely. There are some PF's who fight and some who don't. By your criteria every hockey mind out there would be wrong for saying Nash is a PF, no?
Nash is a 6'4 softie with ultra skill, put him in Rickus Nasha and he's hated by the hockey world for underachieving. - AdamFrench
He's considered a PF, by the people in hockey is all I'm saying. If HockeyBuzz chat room is defining PF then yes, Nash is not a PF, if the NHL players and managers are defining PF then he is. All I'm saying.

Can't wait till this guy hits the market and sees what teams are willing to pay for small, soft centres with limited offensive upside. Leafs should let him walk. They'll be fine without him.
I hear ya, but if anyone thinks Fransons tough because he roughs up guys like Kane thats poopty. He's a power forward for how he USES his skill and speed, which is similar to other guys.
Lucic fits the definition guys on here are saying, and he is a great PF. He does it all, and he can dominate games when he wants to, much like other PFs. But Lucic lacks in certain areas that other PFs are better at. He hits and fights, and certainly intimidates, but he doesn't score as much any more and isn't going to be a top ten scorer probly ever. So certain PFs do certain things better than others.
