yeah, the path to the net is different. Hence, different style.
The bottom six guys aren't generally offensive forwards. Or at least, that's not really why they're there. So that's different. - Dirte
I feel like the only reason this is even a convo is because we worded things slightly different lol. |

Richards won't get bought out - robin_steele264
The whole team will be back next year, Richards, even Tortarella. When the time comes & it will eventually happen, mabie next year, mabie the year after. One day the Rangers will hit rock bottom. Than & only than will there be major changes in NY. Probably the end of Sather aswell. |

An aging player with a ridiculous cap hit that sits in the press box for important playoff games?

He's considered a PF, by the people in hockey is all I'm saying. If HockeyBuzz chat room is defining PF then yes, Nash is not a PF, if the NHL players and managers are defining PF then he is. All I'm saying. - aminnes
Lupul has 5 reg season fights in his career.... that is almost half season's worth for Neely. No comparison. It's just over iginla's career avg.
Nash doesn't fight but he does all the other things listed, that Lupul doesn't do to be considered a PF. |

Surely Backes and Lucic are the closest to being PFs but neither strike me as being 40+goals and 150+pim players. I hate to say it but maybe Bertuzzi was the last real PF. I feel sick now - Hockey_Hoser
Corry Perry 10-11??? 50 goals 98pts 104Pims |

Kormorov wonders if he's righty or lefty (swings both ways???) and asks bozak what that's called!

Yes they play tough. That's pretty established. The difference between a PF and a bottom 6 guy that plays tough? Skill. You don't score goals being tough. The path to the net may be different between a Bertuzzi and a Datsyuk, but the end result is achieved through skill. - TheTaoOfSemenko
little surprised Evander Kane's name hasn't come up here... |

still feeling like we're going to find out he's injured - lingering from the Kaleta hit from behind.
And no way they buy him out this summer. If they wait a year it goes down significantly...and they have the luxury of seeing if it was injury or just a slump (assuming they don't already know) |

The dmen you could at least walk away from. Clarkson nope. - honesthockey
Sure you can, Clowe for one would be a cheaper alternative, and I think more likely to live up to expectations. Horton is obviously more skilled. Clarkson is up there with skill, and plays a damn good game. Just don't think he's worth 5+ Million. 4 years, 18 million max. 4.5 cap hit.
As for defense, I really think they just need that top two. You sign a guy like Scudari to play with Gardiner, and stick Franson where needed with another Fraser type. But solidifying a top pairing seems to solve more issues than signing a PF. Even though we need one. Michalek springs to mind, Beauch, Bieksa, Hamhuis. Or even a guy like Bryan Allen just as a solid shutdown guy.
From what I can see with opinions on Bozak, they are extreme. Either really good, or really average. Personally, I don't think he's worth anything more than what Vermette gets paid. I'd sooner trade for Vermette than resign Bozak. |

I love the idea of Clarkson. I don't know if it would work, but I'm up for giving it a shot.
The downside is who do you target for Dmen? I'd take any of Hainsey, Murray, Ference, Scuderi or Regehr (who would not come and play with Dion), but the downside is they're all gonna get so overpaid that the Komisarek deal could look like a steal in comparison... - lumlums
Oh gawd no, we have enough 3rd liners, we don't Clarkson and what will be an inflated salary. |

Bozak is a really good 3rd line center...we don't need him. |
