Agreed. There should be a rule against winning the Norris or Selke if you do not even kill penalties on a regular basis....

He's basically a forward playing defense.

Toews is better in his own zone than a "Norris Trophy winner"

Just like Ray Bourque, Alfredsson could go out accomplishing the one thing that had always eluded him. In his case, a correct prediction.

[quote=Unholy_Forward]Guy is a great team player, solid defensively, drops smart hits, fights like a bear and can play on the PP (maybe with Dion or Gardiner).
Oiler fan thinks it would take Gunnar and a 1st for him. Another says Wheeler (drafted 5th overall in 2004, 6'5 and 210, RW, considered a PF) could fit in amazingly with Toronto. Obtaining both these players would be awesome.
Maybe something like

To Jets
2013 3rd
Gunnarsson
Blacker
Colborne
Negotiation rights to MacArthur

To Leafs

FIXED

lol

(Bahahahhahahahahaha wtf a 3rd and 2 AHLers and the rights to...wait for it...drum roll please...3rd liner at best Clarke McArthur (not worth a spell check)....Hold out and maybe toss in Holzer and the Hawks might up Toews)

I'd be fine letting Grabo show his stuff for one more year, but not if it hinders us from making a clear upgrade.

We need a Clarkson/Horton/Clowe type, a top 4 d-man, and MAYBE a #1 center if one becomes available (Kesler, Thornton, Stastny) for the right price. A grinder/pest might be nice to replace Komarov if he walks.

Clutterbuck is a dream, but here's to hoping.

I'm not sure you can accomplish all of that (or any of that) with Grabo's 5.5 on the books.

- Leeman4Gilmour

Winnik - McClement - Clutterbuck
Orr - Boyd - Komarov

I think I'd have an aneurysm watching them agitate everything in sight.

And then...

JVR - Grabovski - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson

As for defense, trade Liles to a team like Carolina. They need a Joe Corvo replacement badly, guy is getting really... gassed. Liles would be an instant upgrade. Doesn't have to be much, but it saves a buyout. a mid round pick, salary with shorter term.

Kulemin and Gunnerson for Clutterbuck and Falk would be a dream trade.

I know this has nothing to do with buyouts but this league really needs to change its draft positioning. The Leafs make it to the first round and pick lower than potentially 4 teams that make it to the second round? How is that fair. The draft should go according to how far you make in the playoffs.

that is correct.. but if savard decides to come off IR to retire.. the buyout becomes a possibility

savard comes off of LTIR.. takes the buyout, retires.

never even has to lace them up.

- Dozzer

If he retires they don't need to buy him out.

Grabo's gone...
- Flyfreaky

Not likely.
Neither will BRichards be.
They had one bad half season. Grabo's been a stud the previous two.
Don't resign Bozak.
