I'd be fine letting Grabo show his stuff for one more year, but not if it hinders us from making a clear upgrade.

We need a Clarkson/Horton/Clowe type, a top 4 d-man, and MAYBE a #1 center if one becomes available (Kesler, Thornton, Stastny) for the right price. A grinder/pest might be nice to replace Komarov if he walks.

Clutterbuck is a dream, but here's to hoping.

I'm not sure you can accomplish all of that (or any of that) with Grabo's 5.5 on the books.

Until you find a guy who can win draws and play the PK, you need to keep Bozak. This is the exact same lineup down the middle that got shredded by Boston.

I'm not sure that adding Clarkson while subtracting Mac and Bozak makes our forward group better at all.

i really think the leafs will resign Mclaren - they liked his game.

its absolutely shocking how many dont get this

90% of his draws this year were in the defensive zone against opposition top lines

grabo is a offensive centre.. i know carlyle hoped he could be a checking centre but its simply not who he is.

well considering kadri was basically a rookie, colborne is, and played 2 playoff games after playing 0 NHL games, and grabo was in a funk last year...+ everyone has some experience now, and matured 1 year...i think Clarkson is a good improvement over Mac, and he can also play some PK time to make up for Bozak...thats my thoughts at least...

Fleury could be traded. Not guaranteed a team will need him depending on the UFA/RFA/BuyOut goalie shuffle this offseason.

A portion of Jokinen's salary is covered by the Hurricanes. Assuming it's half, the Pens would definitely hold on to him "just in case."

not true at all

other than the last ten minutes of the second game (game 6 and 7) this lineup pretty much had boston in the bag

and frankly.. bozak was not good.. for too long we have swallowed the hype on this guy and now we all believe it

bozak in the playoffs
1: was third in faceoff percentage behind both grabo and mcclement
2: had 2 points in 5 games while getting top line minutes
3: was tied for 4th in giveaways with grabo and played 2 less games

bozak's "intangibles" which everyone seems to praise him for are ... well.. not good at all. barely average actually.

Sign bozak for 4million (3.5 sounds better), buyout or trade Grabovski and sign a Boyd Gordon for 2 million (similar to McClement).
