I can actually see that with a lot of potential buyouts , what is the window for buyouts exactly ? - Redmile247
Next summer is the last time for the two amnesty buyouts. |

Unless they make drastic changes to compete soon - homiedclown
I'd be surprised if they didnt give him 1 more year, even though it would essentially cost them nearly 1.5M more to do so.
By the way, you never responded to my post about what I think we could get for Miller. You kind of disappeared.
Maybe Howie red (read) it. |

i'm going to say 15 - 20(maybe) next year .
but agreed 30 - gerbe75pts
I dunno, he kinda gives off a "stafford 2.0" vibe.
I think if he's given a ton of ice time he can get to (or close to) 30. |

I had a crap head cold for 5 days, I bolted for the bar and fed it some jack on the rocks
it had a lot of thought and made a ton of sense
I just want the team to turn the corner and if they can do it with Miller, I am fine with it
it's been 6 long years |

As much as I like Miller. It's time for change. We will see next year what we have in a lot of players without IMO the goalie covering up some flaws |

They actually seemed to play better in front of Enroth late in the season. Not really sure why, but they did. |

I've probably watched him more than you have . i was mostly joking but there have been issues with him using size well and sometimes shying away. The effort thing was a concern in his first world junior tournament but this year I thought he looked alright as far as not being lazy and such. |

Most teams play differently in front of the backup. It might change when Ewok is the starter |

That is true to a point. It's frustrating though because if they can play more defensively responsible in front of one, why not the other?
I'm sure some of it has to do with the comfort factor, which is why I wouldn't be opposed them splitting it so that one plays about 50 games and the other about 32. Keeps the rest of the guys on their toes a bit. |

I think part of the issue is the comfort level, Miller plays so many games, it is probably a totally different feel when Enroth is in net. |

Based on what Rolston did in Rochester his first year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him make one of the guys earn the starting job. He was rotating MacIntyre and Leggio until Leggio's play finally dictated that he should be the starter. The only problem was that it took a long time to figure it out and both goalies struggled for a few months while he was rotating them. He also then played Leggio for pretty much every game the rest of the season. |

I'd be fine with that. I think we struggle regardless. I would like to see Enroth start opening day, he has been in the organization and should get the chance to prove he's a legit starter. |

If Enroth does end up being the starter, I don't know that I would want Hackett just being the backup here unless he's going to get rotated in pretty frequently. I don't think it would be beneficial to have him here just sitting around. I'd almost rather have him in Rochester as the starter there and go with a different guy as the backup here. Maybe give Leggio a shot to be the backup here. |

If that's what they do I'm fine with both of them being here. But if Rolston is going to ride the hot goalie (like he did in Rochester) then I would want Hackett to be getting regular time in Rochester (unless he ends up the hot goalie). |

With the team we will have, it isn't going to matter. Neither goalie will look good. |

I'd want them to sign a veteran backup goalie that can handle 25-30 games.
Ellis, Emery, Labarbera... or if they have to Garon, Theodore or Mason. |

Spector had an article today about Emery and he was mentioned to the Sabres, among 3 other teams. |
