If Patrick Roy joins the Avalanche...there is no way he's rolling out Varlomov every night. I wouldn't be surprised if that is part of the negotiations. Stastny for Miller type of deal makes a lot of sense.
Blues? They have a 1-2 punch that has the easiest job in the NHL behind a stacked defense. Why would they focus more time defending when their biggest issue is putting a puck past Quick? That team is built for 2-1 hockey games, if they want to take the next step it's not in-between the pipes. |

This. Its the only one that is a win win for both. my guess a swap of draft picks will be included as well. |

I said Miller for Stastny a while back and got crucified for it. It really is the only Trade scenario i could see working and is a good fit for each team.
Plus that would give us room to move Ennis for a scoring winger, which this team desperately needs. I think Vanek is gone as well, but we shall see. |

The one good thing about moving Miller is that he only has one year left on his contract... |

Which could be attractive for Colorado, evne more if buffalo is willing to retain say 15% of his salary.
Miller and Sekera for Stastny and Siemens! |

NO chance the Avs are sending Siemens back in that deal...
But given how much Avs traded for Varly in the first place, that'd be a tough pill to swallow. I also dont think Varly is terrible, the D in front of him however... |

History suggests his trades go out west. Name a player worth a poop he's traded in our conference in his 17 years. - Buffalo--Sabres
Paille... Underrated, amazing on the PK and probably the best 4th liner in the NHL. He could easily be a 3rd liner and maybe a 2nd liner on other teams. |

Avs is Stastny and more
Islanders is Nino and more
Lightning is not the 1st round pick(sad i know) but some other things
not saying theyll get way more but this is who you will see coming back and by far the most likely 3 teams |

I know, but I really like Siemens. He is a all out tough D-man, but is not realdy for the big club yet. One can dream right? |

With the new playoff structure next year it makes it a lot more likely, IMO. |

I only see 2 of those 3. TBL just landed Bishop for a pretty steep price. |

Gretzky was a pansy too. The problem isn't that their two top scorers are pansies. The problem is that everyone else on the team is also a pansy. |

We won't get a good enough offer to move Stafford yet, we'll have to wait till the deadline... Hopefully he has a bounceback year so we can get something decent for him...
No real advantage to buying out Leino this year as opposed to next...
It lets Larsson, Armia & Girgensons start the season in Rochester...
Which is also why Gerbe will be back for the last year of his contract |

One year after also landing Lindback for a steep price. The Bolts will not be trading for Miller. Lindback and Bishop will our tandem moving forward. One will step up to become the defacto #1 but both will get plenty of starts to earn it. As for Miller, the Bolts need to move some salary, not pick more up.
Also, those steep prices are the going rates for young goaltenders. Cue up the Bob trade to the Jackets and the Varlamov trade to the Avalanche. If Gillis had dealt Cory the price would have been very steep also. |

"Philadelphia:
There is so much we don't know about the Flyers off-season plans, but I do know that as the season wound down I kept hearing Ryan Miller's name being mentioned. Would he come to Philly and stay in the East? Could the Sabres trade him to one of their most hated rivals? Would the Flyers part with a player like Brayden Schenn to make a deal happen?"
1- What are they going to do with Bryz, buy him out and keep him on the books for 14 more years? Yeah, and then 5 years down the road people will be batching that Homer bought him out, and that dead money is strapping them. In my opinion, they either need to find someone willing to take him for practically nothing, just to get rid of the contract (and he needs to waive his NMC, obviously), or just ride him and try to fill other areas of need in front of him. In all honestly, while he may not have been deserving of his $16.5mil the last two seasons, he was quite honestly their best and most consistent player for the first half of the season anyway. Still not worth the money, but if we're talking cutting slackers, he wasn't the prime culprit this season....
2- I wouldn't get rid of Schenn or just about any youth for Miller. Not saying Miller isn't worth it, but "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"... Miller has had his own share of problems and inconsistencies. I guarantee, unless the defense is bolstered a bit, and they start playing together as a team, Miller would just be another victim of the Flyers' goalie black hole. |
