BUF fans have gotta stop proposing Miller gets traded for A+ prospects.
Miller's getting paid 6.25M, he's 33YO, and he has one year left on his contract. Why would FLA trade a guy like Bjugstad for him? |

Miller to Philly for Simmonds & a 1st
We could pay half Miller's salary and/or take back a bad contract like Briere or Bryzgalov... But then Philly would likely have to add more (prospect, pick) |

The hawks have a bad habit of signing goalies in decline in order to erode Crawford's confidence, then are forced to go back to him when he proves himself more reliable. I hope I'm wrong but I see Miller or Nabokov coming our way ... |

He wouldn't some of the offers have been way over the top. In all likely hood he'll bring in slightly more than what Ottawa got for Ben Bishop. Something like 2 B+ prospects or an A- prospect and a roster player. |

why more? Bishop had better stats, is younger, and was gonna be an rfa. |

It's called consistency , miller has played proved he is a legit starter that can play in the playoffs and bishop has done what exactly ? Miller is worth at least twice as much as bishop. |

A team is more likely to overpay for an established goalie than an unproven young goalie. |

I can't believe how much wasted time was spend by people suggesting Miller to Vancouver.

If that were true Luongno would have been on the Leafs for the playoffs. Fact is younger goalies get more. Halak when he was traded got a 1st round pick in Lars Eller. And Halak was a backup at the time. Bishop when he was traded to the Sens the blues got a 2nd round pick i think in Tarasenko or maybe he was a late 1st rounder.
Either way these unproven young goalies got alot in return considering Eller had a semi break out season this year and Bishop was instrumental to the Sens for most of the season before he was traded to the Lightning for Cory Conacher which i believe was also a former 1st round pick. |

Conacher was an undrafted free agent

Many of these suggestions make NO sense. How about teams that actually NEED a goalie? The Flames, Oilers, and Wild immediately come to mind with the Devils being a sleeper (gotta plan for life after Marty). - TheGreatNumber8
Agree...Colorado? St.Louis? No way. Edmonton....Now that's not a bad fit |

Because they like French Canadian coaches. |

Would Edmonton consider moving one of their what seems like 100 super kids? A legit goal tender would get them in the post season. - glove_was_stuck
I don't think that's true.
We allowed 32.8 SA/G this year (2nd worst) and had a top-10 sv%. We allowed more 35+ shot games this season (17), than 25 or less games (3). We only outshot the opponent 11 games this year, and it took us until game 30 last year to have a game allowing fewer than 28 shots on goal.
controlling the play more and having better defense are the only factors that are the difference between the oilers and the playoffs. Goaltending is far down the list imo. |

I think it's a pretty bad fit. Edmonton has tons of things to improve, and goaltending is low priority. To get Miller, you create a huge hole in a higher priority position, for one year of a guy who will almost certainly walk. |

I could see trading Miller to Vancouver. Van hires Lindy and trades Luongo and Bieksa or Burrows for Miller, a prospect and Minny's 1st. It will free up $3m in cap space this year for the Nucks and more importantly it will finally end the Lu saga. In addition, Miller's contract ends after next season, which will free up space to resign the Sedin's and decide if they want to move forward with Miller. |

Yeah, Luongo's contract is just what Buffalo wants right now... |
