I dont think Miller is the difference maker for any team in the NHL. His upside is he's usually healthy and good for 70 games a season. But he isnt that much better than any other good goalie you've heard of. And there isn't a team out there that is a "goalie away" . Philly is the closest but Darcy hates trading in the conference. - Buffalo--Sabres
This notion that Darcy isn't trading within the conference in B.S.
Miller only has one year left on his deal. There is no guarantee he re-signs with that team. The Sabres will probably be pretty bad again next year. I don't think Darcy is worried that Miller is going to come back to haunt him, per se.
If Darcy wants to keep his job beyond this so-called "rebuild", he will make the best deal possible, east or west. |

If Miller was still "a legit #1 star goalie", Buffalo wouldn't be looking to trade him. - jaygeeforty
You are obviously unaware of the Sabres' current situation. |

Many of these suggestions make NO sense. How about teams that actually NEED a goalie? The Flames, Oilers, and Wild immediately come to mind with the Devils being a sleeper (gotta plan for life after Marty). - TheGreatNumber8
The Flames and Oilers no. I think Lou will end up in Colorado.
Minnesota is a possibility. The Blues would be stupid to take Miller. I have no idea why they would want him. |

I would do anything to move up and get mackinnon. if not try to get 2 picks in the top 5
we need star players..now
and trade enroth? value high as someone previously said. i agree and have been saying it all along. im ok with keeping miller and ditching enroth,1st round pick and prospect for say a top 5 pick |
|
|
|
Would Edmonton consider moving one of their what seems like 100 super kids? A legit goal tender would get them in the post season. |

just like we traded suckerra when his value was high when he outplayed big z
Darcy only trades a player when their value hits a all time low and everyone else knows its gone too |

Why? Because our starting goalie had such a terrible year?
Use your head clown.

History suggests his trades go out west. Name a player worth a poop he's traded in our conference in his 17 years. |

Stood next to Lindy at the Clarence School tax vote yesterday. Told him that my wife "hates the new coach". He only seemed slightly amused
Perhaps it was to soon. |

No he's staying a sabre
I'd rather trade enroth while his value is this high coming off gold. We have plenty of potential future starters (hackett, makorov) - LizzyJo
I wouldn't count on Makarov being a future starter... |

These are different circumstances. He will make the best deal possible to keep his job beyond these next few years.
there is no guarantee Miller stays with that team anyway. And, really, who cares if he does? He is on the downswing of his career. |

Times, like since the deadline 2 months ago times? Regeir, Pomminville, Leopold all went out west. Miller's name obviously holds weight and he has value otherwise we wouldnt be talking about it. I just think career wise he's best suited staying. He's the one that wants out. |

The issue to over come is the teams who need him are on his no movement list most likely |

I would rather see Edmonton try to trade one of their (what is it 5 now?) future superstar forwards for a great future goalie. If they draft a future top pair dman then they're balanced alittle bit better. |

By that logic, why would any team trade a star player, Iginla, Parise and Suter are just recent examples. The obvious answer is the player expresses interest in a trade and what front office wants someone playing for them that doest want to?
My feeling is that whatever team gets him will be very happy. Yes, he's had just average stats the past few seasons, but look at the defense that's played infront of him, this year they were one of the worst in the league, give aways and turnovers were rampant, they allowed an average of about 36 shots on goal/game through this season, I don't care how good your goalie is, the D simply cannot allow that many shots. With a good D in front of him I think he has a good chance at being a top goalie in this league again. |

I'm thinking that could be subject to change, depending on how bad he wants out, and what those teams do over the next several weeks, player-wise. |
