May I gently remind you all not to attack each other personally. Attacking each others' positions is encouraged. (Agreeing with them is ok, too.)

uh, patty was still behind the net when the whistle blew. on the other end, the puck was already in the net.
- hiway39

It was still an early whistle. Patty could have still put it in the net, Quick was way out of position and wouldn't have been able to get back in time.

And the puck wasn't in the net, if it was, the goal would have stood. Regardless of a whistle. It was still a very early whistle, Kings got robbed on a sure goal.

Good game NoCal... I stand by my takes here,, "Scoreboard", no need for whining here, you guys got the job done and I could make a list of things that the kings dropped the ball on, Muzyn putting that puck into orbit with an open net after the sweet pass from kopitar, Fraser playing like a lobotomy patient and taking dumb penalties, dumb penalties in general, sloppy D-zone play, not getting shots through to the net etc. Great goal tending for san jose... I don't know if stats support it but it always seems like the Sharks have our number hustle wise and thats why we as fans want this series so bad... wish I could watch the game thursday but I will be at the Wiltern watching/listening to everything that is right about rock'n'roll as Queens of the stone age take the stage that night, hopefully my friends will keep me well updated on the game.

It's not about evening up, it's just an all around embarassment to the NHL. You guys had a goalie interference call against you tonight....I think it was Wingels or Galiardi... it was a joke, Doughty wrapped his legs up and pulled hkm down in the blue paint, and they called goalie intsrference. Really? What a joke.... Imagine if LA scored on THAT powerplay, and the whistke didnt blow early to negate the Kings good goal? We'd be talking about a 3-2 Kings win and it would still be a joke. This whole series has lost all validity. It's just a shame both ways.
- kings#7

Very good point, I had actually forgotten about that call. However the good news is that it's like we are starting at an even slate now...hopefully the officiating is better here on out for BOTH sides, winning strictly cause of bad calls is as bad as losing.

I didn't shed a tear over that one. Doughty did a good job drawing that one and almost forcing the ref to make a call there. I have no problem with that penalty at that point in time.

That call was a complete joke, and I'm a King fan! I don't even know if he touched Quick? It was an obvious make up call (probably for screwing the pooch on the quick whistle).

That's what I said after game 2 and I will say it again today although Sharks fans didn't see it that way until calls started going in your favor.

This series has been poorly called all around on both teams.

The entire concept of goalie interference has become a joke. At the very least there needs to be consistency in the calls. Then again, refs this year can't seem to be consistent on anything.

Yes, it was brutal, but it still wasn't in the net before the whistle. Just another home ice advantage of wearing black i guess. That whistle was blown way to early. I completely understand why Kings fans are upset.

Yeah but the call that made it on 5 on 4 in game 2 was a penalty. At the time I thought it was a good penalty to take but it led to the 5 on 3. The Sharks lost that game themselves, the refs in no way blew game 2. I think the officiating has been played up too much this postseason. I don't care what call got missed or wasn't a penalty. You have to roll with the punches and play the game.

It's not golf. You can't call in and have a play reviewed. Bad calls, good calls, noncalls, all part of most sports. The best team still is going to win a 7-game series.*

It seems to me that we lose sight of the complete game. We want to boil down the game into a moment or two instead of considering the full 60 minute affair. If the blown call/non goal occurred with 58 seconds left in the third period of a 2-1 game then I would agree that the call kept the game from going to OT. However the Kings still had lots of hockey, multiple power play attempts, and ample opportunity to get that goal back.

It was the same with the Sharks and the "disputed" call that put them on a 5 on 3. Let's say it was a blown call. You've got to come up with a big kill. They didn't, they lost. Good teams overcome adversity. Unfortunately the Sharks had much less time to respond.

The call was terrible and even when watching it with my team reaping the reward I was disappointed. The refs have been poor through most of the series. But these are the things teams have to overcome. Bounces, breaks and calls. Sometimes they go your way and sometimes they don't.

Well said. At least the calls have been consistently bad all the way around. Each side just has to play through it. For me, watching the embarassment that was the 1st period just tells me that the refs can't be the sole reason we lost.

I personally like Willie Desjardins(AHL coach of the year). I don't want Lindy Ruff or Scott Arniel at all. I wouldn't be too up or down about Tippett or a guy like Brent Sutter. Guy Boucher seems to be a bit of a wildcard.

I'd love to get Joe Quenneville if the Hawks get upset by the Wings and fire him.
