Huh? Did they not win the cup 2 years ago? Kings, same kind of roster...just won it last year.

I would say the Bs and kings isn't a bad blueprint

- jambodelta99

Kings ave Richards, Carter, Kopitar, Dustin Brown and Drew Doughty. A lot of skill and ability to score. Watch the beginning of the game last night. They don't play this stupid Torts dump and pound hockey. It's skill and puck possesion with a blend of some guys that will hit and add energy.

With Gaborik, Kreider, and Hagelin, I really thought they had the potential to be a real good speed team, but with Gaborik gone, and Kreider in neutral, that doesn't seem to be a good possibility anymore.

Clowe being out hurts a lot, as could have had him on third line with Boyle on fourth. Same with Stralman going out yesterday with Staal already sidelined, but Boston has three D out, so no time for whining.

Because next year they would get bounced by some quick, talented speed team, and then everyone would say we were to big and slow.
- Pete V

I'm just saying proof is in the pudding. These teams that win nowadays are monstrous behemoth manly men. Not little tykes like zuccarello, brassard and hagelin getting beat to a bloody pulp

Good lord, I'm not saying get rid of all the skill. The top 9 need tweaking with some size that have skill too

Exactly. We hought we had speed and skill. If Kreider under a new coach can become what he was last playoffs we can try and add that blend of speed and skill again. Im sick of trying for tougher bigger guys. Its a new NHL! Skill, and uptempo hitting guys. I want pure Skill in my top 6. Best 6 offensive players I can get my hands on. A 3rd line with 3 Callahan-lites (less scoring touch) but that CAN score running around on it. And a 4th line that provides a lot of energy and can kill penalties with 1 guy that can knock a (frank)er out if need be. Thats my Offense I want built.

maybe Oscar Lindberg and Jesper Fasth make the team next year and really add some skill and speed. They are both kind of wild cards as to knowing what to expect.

Who on the Hawks roster in their top 9 is like you just described? Toews, Kane (ha!), Sharp, Bolland, Hossa, Stalberg, etc.....They just kill you with skill. Same with the Redwings, Sharks...And to your other quote why yes, yes you are. Because Zuccs was one of the few forwards to show offensive talent and you want him gone for "bigger".

We don't have one intimidating player in the lineup. We can't win in the playoffs without that aspect

Why are the Hawks, Pens, Wings, Sharks, and Kings scary to play against? Cause of crazy skill.

Never mind the fact they are actually fun to watch.

Playing the Bruins makes any team look small, they play a physical game. They beat the piss out of us on a consistent basis for a while now.

To a team that also isn't particularly big.

But, I understand your point about wanting to add some snarl. Keep in mind that they have Dorsett, and can also retain Clowe (if the price is right). Hell, go out an sign Raffi Torres as a UFA if you want, although he'll probably have to act like choir boy to avoid getting a life time suspension.

Your not getting what I'm saying. We don't have enough of a mix of skill and size.

I'm just saying those other teams have a mix of both that make them better then us.

Exactly. I am not sayign dont add snarl but do it to the bottom 6 not the top 6. Top 6 I want like uhh ya know all the good teams left.

Every team in the playoffs has some sort of intimidation factor. ( aside from a goalie)

Our most intimidating player is fkin Callahan who is 5-11, 200 lbs soaking wet

Where? Red Wings, Hawks, Sharks, Pens, Sens. Explain out of those how they have a better mix the size en of the spectrum. even the Kings although I know little about their bottom 6.

Two coaching candidates not often mentioned. First from left field but with strong Ranger roots thru his dad is Bobby Francis. Not sure why he hasn't gotten another shot after Phoenix. Won jack Adams think and did better then Gretzky did after him. The other is Guy Carboneau seems all ex Habs coaches succeed Bowman, Burns, Julian, Lemaire, and Vignault.

Yea I agree with you. I wasn't saying replace all those 9 guys you were saying. But that top 9 isn't very imposing and it needs some

I'm not disagreeing with you. If you re-sign Clowe, sign a guy like Torres to a reasonable deal, with Dorsett, does that do it for you? And it would be real nice if McIlrath could make this team someday.

Guy Carboneau is a good coach, but he is going to play Torts hockey for the most part. I would really like a change in style.
