I feel bad for Hank. I wouldn't blame him if he pulled a Patrick Roy after this series is over. |

How bout Jim Schoenfeld?
Guys done a great job in the A, knows most of the players.. I think he can really do a good job. I dont know that ruff is the answer, i feel like it would just be torts all over again - TrueBlue9182
Always has respect for Schoenfeld but I wonder if he is up for that task. I would prefer that than hiring somone like Ruff or Jacques Martin.

Who? - MidnightMarauder
There were rumors earlier in the year, reported by Dreger, that Mike Babcock was a serious candidate to take over the head coaching job at Michigan when Red Berenson retired. I don't know whether he was miffed at the Red Wings for some reason, but it seems strange that if he was, he would take a college job. Could be because he has kids growing up in the area and doesn't want to move them. I think the Rangers would be well served to, at least, look into what is going on there. I don't think it is likely, or even realistic, but I would put the hard sell on him if he is even remotedly considering leaving. |

He is not an @sshole like Roy though. He would not quit on his teammates, no matter how frustrated he might be.
Plus there is a lot of unfinished business here. Roy already won it all twice and probably felt like he had nothing left to do in Montreal. |

Wow, Mike Babcock would be a phenomenal choice. He is a terrific coach, just look at the job he is currently doing in Detroit? His resume speaks for itself but I think that would be extremely tough to get him to come here. |

He's worth any amount of money you throw at him if available. |

I wouldn't mind buying out Richards and stashing away the money till the right opportunity presents itself and throw out a REALLY young team next year and see what happens.
Top 9: Hags, Step, Cally, Nash, Brassard, Kreider, Zuuc, Miller, Lindberg/Fast
Which leaves a solid Asham, Boyle, Dorsett 4th line.
That with the young D we have means our only means of a "window" is Hank's age. But he looks so dominant I think we will be ok for a few years. If those young guys grab the reigns we could grow into a real good team with lost of cap space to make a proper splash when the right chance comes along. Because just look at the 2014 UFA list. - mrhattrick27
Needs to get bigger and meaner. I love all of those guys, but this series is proof we don't have nearly enough size or toughness |

Not to play Pollyanna, but just to give some historical perspective, the Bruins DID recently lose a series in which they were up 3 games to 0 against an inferior team with AHL goaltending. They did this losing with home ice advantage, losing a game 7 in which they were up 3-0 in the first.
It's not likely, no. But it's still possible. You're not dead yet. You do have the best goalie around (discouraged as he may be, a couple of spectacular first period saves tomorrow and he'll be right as rain). I just hate to see it all be talking as though you don't have a game tomorrow still to play. (My guys haven't played since spring 2012. ) |

Huh? Did they not win the cup 2 years ago? Kings, same kind of roster...just won it last year.
I would say the Bs and kings isn't a bad blueprint |

Believe me, I want someone a little innovative as well, who will have the team play the game with some pace, but I am little concerned about turning the team over to a first-timer, because that can go bad -- i.e., Brian Trottier, John MacLean, et. High upside to those type of hires, but also high risk. |

That was the exact issue after the Flyers swept the Rangers in 1995. They traded Zubov and Nedved to Pittsburgh for Robitaille and Ulf Samuelsson, to try and get tougher and meaner. Gong!
Getting rid of Zubov was one of the worst trades in Rangers history. |

With Gaborik, Kreider, and Hagelin, I really thought they had the potential to be a real good speed team, but with Gaborik gone, and Kreider in neutral, that doesn't seem to be a good possibility anymore. |

Because next year they would get bounced by some quick, talented speed team, and then everyone would say we were to big and slow. |
