Boy oh boy, the kings power play is phenomenal.
I wonder the regret Philly fans feel about losing Richards and carter |

Time for the Rangers to storm back, win 3 straight and then blow a 6 goal lead in the 7th game in the last 45 seconds so I can feel better about the Leafs terrible collapse against Boston. |

If I was a Flyers fan I would miss Richards, but not Carter. I'm not a fan of Carter's attitude. I know a lot of it is probably rumours, but you don't build a reputation without there being some truth to the accusations. |

I'm really done quoting your posts. Please don't put words in my mouth anymore. I hope you stay a fan for another 45 years. Seriously, but you have turned this board into a battleground with your posting which is a lot of times makes no sense. It's too bad that you're so self absorbed. |

it's hard to even try to assess what happened last night
I don't think I have ever witnessed a home Ranger playoff game where it seemed the Rangers didn't want to be there.
They really didn't even deserve to be on the ice with the Bruins last night, the only miracle was that it was only 2-1.
They have been pounded into oblivion in this series and don't seem to have any will to battle anymore.
They may be forced to dress Richards on thursday due to injuries, but really, why even dress him at this point? This guy has absolutely nothing left. Just give him his 24 million and let him sign somewhere else. Can't even look at him anymore.
Definitely can't defend Torts today. He doesn't have any answers. Even if that game had gone into overtime last night, Rangers may have been only team in NHL history to be too tired to come out and play it.
That was pretty damn pathetic. |

The one thing we thought would not happen is a poor effort. I won't be surprised if Torts gets let go nor will I be surprised if he returns. The Bruins have illustrated you can play straight ahead hockey and win. Depth is critical. The Rangers need to be able to roll four lines. Buying out Richards can go a long way toward doing that. Naturally the PP needs addressing not just with coaching it but with personnel. This is going to be an interesting summer.
One other interesting note. 11 of the 12 Bruins forwards were on the team in 2011. I believe 4 of their d-men as well. That's 15 still in the team. The Rangers had almost half of their forwards turn over in the last year alone and had a 48 game season to piece it together. I know we were all emotional last night and there is no defense for Torts after last night. I still don't think he is getting fired. Just my opinion. |

This going to be another sad offseason, Sather and Torts are going to have to answer some questions and the brunt of this failure

The coach burns his top players out and doesn't use the other players that so called "haven't earned his trust enough." The only differene between Boston and the Rangers is that Boston's coach trusts all of his players and plays them in all scenarios while Tortorella runs his relied upon players to the brink of exhaustion while others sit there with the best seat in the house.
His inability to use his entire team creates a great divide between the trusted and the untrusted thus creating a big disadvantage on the whole.
An abysmal power play doesn't help either.

It's always a sad offseason for 29 teams that didn't win the cup. One has to think the Rangers won't sit on their hands this offseason when they get eliminated by the Bruins.
A complete overhaul is not necessary, there was a ton of turnover already, but there are some key issues that can't be ignored.
To buy out Richards or not? To bring back Tortorella or not? Have to re-sign Stepan, McDonagh, Hagelin and Zuccarello and, in my opinion, do whatever it takes to acquire a true power play point man.
There are some good kids in the organization and they need to play. How this will all come together this summer should be interesting. |

another big problem, and it worried me big time entering this series is the inability to win faceoffs. Never before was it worse than last night.
Boyle was 4-17, Bergeron was 14-6, ughhhh
I think going forward, lots to look forward to with the continued development of Stepan and Brassard, but the reality is that neither one is a first line center. They would both probably flourish if we had a real go to guy in the middle to take the pressure off everyone.
If I could amnesty #19 before thursday's game I would do it. I don't even want to wait for the debate to start. |

He should be scratched but the only good money is that Torts will blindly put him on the point if we draw a penalty, can't believe we had 2 with that effort last night

everytime we get a powerplay I always say to myself, ok, this one will be different, they'll finally get it going and somehow they always manage to look worse with each one.
Never seen anything like it. |

Agreed but true first line centers don't grow on trees. This team hasn't had one Wayne Gretzky's second year here.
Think about it, Messier's second stint was a way to sell tickets and that's it, Nylander was great with Jagr but only because of how great Jagr is. After that we had Gomez and Richards come in and steal money.
Truth be told, Richards might be given one more shot to earn it here. What other choice do they have? |

I don't think Richards should be given another shot.
We gotta get out from under this deal ASAP.
He gets injured next year with something that lingers into next summer, we won't be able to buy him out because of an injury and then we are stuck with him until 2020. That's why the Rangers wouldn't let Redden out of his bedroom until they and the league came to an agreement to buy him out early. I think it's the same situation now.
I know this, the answer is not signing other team's players to long term contracts after they have turned 30 years old. No more. This has to be the last time. |

I'd Rather go with Step as the #1 and Brassard #2, either will be more effective, Miller should be the 3rd line center and find a 4th line face off guy, unless we finish in the bottom 5 which most likely isn't going to happen we're never going to have that franchise center |
