Seen 'em from Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita on up (yep, homer) to Patrick Kane, and outside the Hawks Howe, Orr, Phil Espo, Gretzky, Kuri, Coffey, Lemieux ...
To me, the most exciting player to watch was Denis Savard. Currently, I think either Crosby or Datsyuk, for different reasons. Patrick Kane is also a great one to watch, when he is on his game. |

The player I was MOST privileged to see live and up close was Eric Lindros. He was far and away the most exciting player I have ever seen, and may ever see. His combination of size, skill, and toughness was unmatched.
Every time he went on the ice you could see the crowd SWELL .
As for the current crop of players, I have to say my home town boy Claude Giroux. |

I remember seeing Mario play in Chicago Stadium as a kid. Savard and Roenick were 2 favs of all time.
Now, seeing 88 and 19 contribute their own styles of "wow" moments makes me feel privileged. |

Crosby was a sight to see when he first entered the league because he would go 110% for every shift. Nowadays he has learned to conserve whining (even though he is still very explosive in tears). For me that was the best individual whining I'd watched because every time he was on the ice he was crying out loud. Now you see him crying a little less. - GoosePuck

Living in Erie, I feel fortunate that I get to watch Connor McDavid for the next couple years at a very reasonable price... |
