Grabo can be traded easily due to his in the playoffs may only be for a second but cap relief is worth it. Should be able to sign both bozak and kadri for around 4-4.5m for 2-4 years keeping kadri as a ufa. Komorov should get around 1.5 for two kessel reups for same cap for 5 dion takes a paycut of around a mil signs for 3 or 4

do you guys enjoy throwing ridiculous amounts for a guy who completed half a season and a guy who averages 40 pts potential is 50 max

Grabo could be traded easily, but for next to nothing. If you're grading it as a business/hockey move, you lose every time.

Unless someone is looking for his services, he's unlikely being traded. The only scenario I could see him leaving the Leafs is one which includes him in a package-deal. If, say, gardiner/reilly/franson were included.

Grabo will be staying - he will get back to form - everybody jumping to scenarios after 1/2 a year under a new coach - leafs have a lot to do if they want to make the playoffs again next year.

I don't think you have thought this through. First of all, $5 Million in 2013 is less than it was when Kessel signed his deal. Even if the cap goes down temporarilly this year, for the rest of his contract it won't be a factor. Esp. with your starting goaline making next to no cap hit. Secondly, you are massivly underrating Tyler Bozak. You play him on a line with 2 star wingers and he gives you what you need. If you were to aquire star centre for Kessel then you have to get a responsible winger. Why do you think Anaheim never plays Perry Getzlaf Ryan as a reg strenght line, or WSh never played a line of Semin/OV/Backstom? It just rarely works to load up one line with 3 pure offesnse players. Besides which, Bozaks penalty killing is probably worth 4 million alone.

Late on this, but I think you are the one not thinking it through...In fact I would suggest you are on something that is clouding your judgment.

For 5 shmillion, I think we can find someone for roughly half to bring the same Bozak does.

In 3-year 5v5 goals, assists and points per 60 minutes of play Tyler Bozak is ranking approximately the equivalent of a good 3rd line player.

You can be sure that Nonis will be looking at getting Kessel extended before the start of the season.

He'll have a solid idea of what that will cost and he'll approach the Grabovski situation accordingly

1) His point totals have gone up every year he's been in the league.
2) He provides much more than points.
3) You still think 5 Mill = star player. It did 3 years ago. Now, with Grabo making 5, Zajac making 6, I could go on, Tyler Bozak will be a good signing at $5 Million. He's also the best FA centre available by a mile.
4) Like I said, he's crazy underrated and I don't think I'm going to change your mind because it seems like you just picked a side randomly and cheery picked some terrible articles to back it up. Bozak is good and I'll take the word of professional scouts any day since they actually get paid to watch hockey and they are smart enough to know that points don't mean sh !t when scoring them isnt your job.

A home town discount for Bozak would be 4 to 5 years at under $5 Million. No chance he takes anything less than a 4 year deal.
- mikeinbuffalo

Anything under 5 is a discount?! We need to stop using Grabo's contract as the comparison - everybody knew it was a bad contract the moment it was announced. The Leafs had nobody and Burke was desperate. They're in a better position this offseason.

Last summer Lupul locked in for 5.25 per year ....and he's a much better player than Bozak. On the open market he might fetch 4 x 4.5ish from some team like Florida. I'd only resign him if I didn't have a better option/plan and he signs for something less than 4 per year.

1. for a player getting 1st line minutes they should, but hes producing 3rd line numbers with those minutes.

2. Faceoffs are nice, the leafs were beating the bruins despite winning maybe 40% of them, closer to 30% in game 7. a 3rd line player who can win 52% of the faceoffs can be had for much much less

3.He may be good value at 1.5, at 4+ he is negative value

4. I think he is rated just fine

Edit: and I didnt pick a side randomly, I have said the same for 3 years. I like him as a #3 option not #1..and at 1.5 not 5million.

Also please provide some articles showing your scouts opinions of Bozak to prove your side.

this year Bozie had 18 even strength points. McLement had 17.

Breath that in slowly Leaf Nation while you consider who Bozak played with all year as opposed to McLement.

He's a 3rd line centre with a short resume that reads "good at faceoffs, very good on breakaways, and super-good friends with Phil Kessel".
