Same here. Dogs are basically an optional accessory when purchasing a home with an adequately sized yard.
I can't wait till I get there either.

Dozzer, I'll answer your question from the other thread about why I think Bozak brings more to the team than Grabo. He has demonstrated better chemistry with the wingers in the top 6 (esp. Kessel, JVR, Lupul) than Grabo; he is better on faceoffs and takes every key faceoff; he plays regularly on both special teams units; he clearly was Carlyle's go-to guy this year at centre in terms of ice time stats. The biggest reason, imo, is the chemistry element; Grabo has really only seemed to 'click' on this team playing with Kulemin and Macca, while Bozak has proven himself to be an overall more versatile hockey player.

I could agree with that and add that I think Bozak is indisputably the most underrated player in the league. As I said in another post, Lupul and Kessel don't have very much higher they can go (yes Kessel could hit 50, but thats luck dependent and for 2 years he has been one of the unluckiest players in the NHL and could actually already have done it) So what is the point of subtracting all the little unnoticed things Bozak does only to replace him with a player who is unlikely to actually add that much to your team? Scoring goals is not this teams problem.

I talked to Kevin McGran (the star beat reporter) and he told me that he has been talking to several professional scouts who consider Bozak to be a top 15 NHL centre.

If he gets 4 he can walk imo

problem is there is no replacement for him..so he will get 5

I don't think you have thought this through. First of all, $5 Million in 2013 is less than it was when Kessel signed his deal. Even if the cap goes down temporarilly this year, for the rest of his contract it won't be a factor. Esp. with your starting goaline making next to no cap hit. Secondly, you are massivly underrating Tyler Bozak. You play him on a line with 2 star wingers and he gives you what you need. If you were to aquire star centre for Kessel then you have to get a responsible winger. Why do you think Anaheim never plays Perry Getzlaf Ryan as a reg strenght line, or WSh never played a line of Semin/OV/Backstom? It just rarely works to load up one line with 3 pure offesnse players. Besides which, Bozaks penalty killing is probably worth 4 million alone.

Here is a question for anyone who considers themselves an intelligent leafs / NHL fan:

Do you find the regular (to put it nicely) fan's failure to embrace Kessle and Phaneuf annoying? Embarrassing? Personally, it almost makes me want to quit watching sports and I find it intollerable. I mean, the gulf between stats/ scouting reports and people's opinions is incredibly wide.

Trying to get people to believe you that Phanauf is a top end defensemen is like trying to convince people that global warming is real: The empirical evidence says one thing and people just choose to beleive whatever they want.

If you go back through the years Phaneuf - kaberle - McCabe - Murphy etc. a pattern starts to emerge: either Star defensemen just forget how to play in Toronto or Toronto fans use confirmation bias to invent their own opinions.

To wit: Phaneuf recieved Norris Trophy votes and scouts have called this year the best of his career.

Ummm...Getz, Perry & Ryan did all play together...and the Sens had Alfie, Spezza and Heater playing together...
Someone like Stastny between Kessel and Lupul/JVR would create a PILE of offence.

Funny how we can have Bozak coming off a career year, with faceoff abilities that dwarf our next best option, and all of a sudden people want him out.

Meanwhile, Grabovski and his fat paycheck are a-ok because he managed to get more ice time and proceed to skate around the ice very fast, getting knocked over a bunch of times(there will come a day when he doesn't get up...trust me) without banking any real offence(see: cap hit) and all of a sudden we're assigning real value to him simply because he was given a poopty roll by RC.

Geez

We dont need offense. we have enough of that. we should be focusing on D. And with that, a few defensive-minded forwards. Whch Bozak is actually pretty good at. Not sure about Stasny though. I'm not saying he isn't. I'm just saying I don't know.

Kessel surprised everybody with his ability to overcome the Bruin's curse which has been with him since he got here.

He's become a playmaker as much as a goal scorer, making him all the more dangerous. I don't think he's the issue.

Grabo can be traded easily due to his in the playoffs may only be for a second but cap relief is worth it. Should be able to sign both bozak and kadri for around 4-4.5m for 2-4 years keeping kadri as a ufa. Komorov should get around 1.5 for two kessel reups for same cap for 5 dion takes a paycut of around a mil signs for 3 or 4

Will either find an NHL job? Maybe 2 way contracts. It would be great to see Timmy as a Canuck, the fans would love him. Komi probably gets his deal from Feaster. Or maybe the Turkey takes both
