Sick of all you fans referring to how good Geno's line was with Kunitz. Crosby's was better. Sid deserves to play with whoever he wants. Neal was brought in and due to injuries he played with and has stayed with Geno. Maybe it's not the centers maybe it is the winger. Move him down to the 3rd and move morrow up or insert Bennett.

Its true o its true.
I know I have bashed Bylsma time and time again, but in this situation I think he is doing right by the team.
Leaving Iggy where he is, with Geno; keeps the dynamic of the rest of our roster intact.

If we held on and go up 3-0 none of these discussions happen. That was about as good as Ottawa could play and it took them almost 2 games to win 1. Calm down we are fine.

Problem is, has that line really produced in this series at 5 on 5???

Both Kunitz and Dupuis scored in game one, but Kunitz's was on the PP and Dupuis's was shorthanded. Crosby scored 3 in game 2, but the first 2 were all Crosby, and the 3rd was a PP goal.

Iginla should be with Sid...they work well together. He also needs to be at the point on the power play (or on the left circle)...he can and does shoot.

I think the one guy that needs to step it up and will potentially make a really big difference is Neal.

7 games...3 points..only 17 shots and 10 hits?

His 9 shots in the last two games are encouraging...we need more of that.

- icedog97

im not going to say hes been great. but he really has been the odd man out on the powerplay, which was his bread and butter. and iginla has really thrown off the dynamic of that whole line. never would suggest that neal is a totally complete player, as he is first and foremost and offensive sniper. right now, these little adjustments are taking him out of his element.

he needs to learn to contribute in other ways, which admittedly the last two games ive seen him try for the first time in whats seemed like a while.

i have no problem admitting crosby's line will be slightly better with kunitz. however, i just think crosby can adjust a little bit better than malkin can. i think that iginla up with crosby gets the most out of everyone. yes, crosby deserves to get what he wants. i just cant see how what is overall best for everyone in the top six is to have iggy with malkin though.

haha hey as flat out wrong as some of the sens fans are, i will agree with them on that to an extent. it is pretty clear that karllson isnt fully healthy. while thats not an excuse for the mental choice to dive, ive already made my opinion on diving known by now. they all do it.

Bringing in slower players got us past the 1st round. Guess it is working
- dbell646

Well I'm going to say it has more to do with the players who we're already here being healthy. Plus having 2 options at goal helps.

in game one, crosby dupper and iggy had so many chances just couldnt pot one. they will come if they can play together consistently. and the iginla and kunitz swap will help the second line tremendously. you are maximizing the potential of your top 6.

Kunitz and Duper have speed and generate chances. I think splitting them works because now you have one guy on each of the top two lines that does that...

Shooters: Iginla and Neal
Playmakers: Sid and Geno
Forecheckers: Duper and Kunitz

It's that simple..

exactly. swapping iginla and kunitz for me is done for the benefit of malkin and neal. in a perfect world, they have a kunitz for each line, but they dont. this set up is the next best thing

In theory that's correct, but since the start of this season the "Forecheckers" have more goals than the "Shooters".

Hemsky is only worth a fifth round pick to me and Edmonton has to eat 3 million in salary. You are destined to keep him throughout because no one wants him.

true. id still argue its because those forecheckers can hustle their way to make their own opportunities, while the shooters are more heavily reliant on the make up of whats going on around them. love neal, but throw off the balance of his line and make him create his own shots and he is useless. a guy like kunitz will be able to produce regardless, because speed and the ability to crash the net fits on any line
