Yeah, I was floored when I heard one of the TSN guys mention him as being available during the deadline show. He's a good youngster.

So, do you think Black Hawk fans are starting to sweat a whole heck of a lot right now?

I still would like to see a Chicago/Boston final though, the fact that both teams have been around forever and have never met in the finals, would make it pretty cool.

BTW I am the only one who thinks Holmgren is going to pull off a trade for a defenseman that none of us will have seen coming?

Finally in the patting myself on the back dept: After 4 weeks of diet and exercise, I have lost 12 lbs and today ran a mile for the first time in about 20 years or so!

Yeah, not necessarily Couturier or Schenn, but Simmonds or Read, I'd strongly consider.

So I had an argument today with a capitals fan who insisted that after age 25 players are old. He insisted that Crosby, Ovechkin, and Giroux are all washed up and in their decline. He insisted that the Flyers have a long future of not being a playoff team ahead of them because they are all "way too old" and most of their players are washed up. I compared Ovechkin to Jagr, saying that he would probably play until his late 30s. He proceeded to laugh at me for comparing the lowly Ovechkin to a great like Jagr. Also he insisted hockey is a "p@$sy" sport compared to the 80's, and that within the next 5 years checking would all together be taken out of hockey. Lastly, he stated that Nashville is one of the biggest markets in the game, that finances were of no issue during the Weber offer-sheet, that Weber stated that he did not want to go to Philadelphia during the offer sheet fiasco, and that Weber was using the Flyers to suck more money out of the Predators. Just thought I'd give you guys some laughs for today.

London was flat from the go and Halifax looked like a refreshed team after having the off day & was on the gas pedal & didn't let up after 1.

I did see some kind of stat. And I believe it was hockey. Where it showed 25 being the peak performance age of the player. Now the decline to 30 is microscopic. But it's there

he's been spectacular tonight, no doubt. even if he just caught a break on a whistle with a loose puck and a post.

Even so to argue that a player is washed up after the age of 25 is ridiculous.

I haven't been overly impressed with him. Every time I watch him he is taking very big hits. Not sure what his ceiling is

I would still consider 26 prime. So he's just a tad off

I don't think a player's prime is 1 year. I don't consider a player's prime 1 year, I consider it a period of 5-6 years, maybe longer depending on the player's conditioning, diet, and work ethic.
