Lots of talented kids in Colorado!!!
Not sure they will get everybody signed.
Roy is too temperamental to be a coach... won't last for long!!! - jimmc7722
He's a HC right now and is doing it with kids in the Q. I think he will do well as this Avs team will be a good fit IMO |

So you go from one guy that literally had no pulse to a guy that is one step away from a heart attack? This is going to be different... |

What has he honestly done to deserve a shot other than having a name? The only arguement ive seen people make is hes made the playoffs every single year well so did the guy before him. Ive never read anywhere about how great Roy developed someone or anything like that. COuldnt teach Grigorenko how to be an elite player outside of the Q. |

Interesting. With Ruff and possibly Tippett available, seems like a strange choice. |

I think it's safe to say that Erik Johnson is a bust. |

Wow what a bad choice. The guy quit on his previous team just before the season started. That's not to mention he's also a BAD coach. I feel for Avs fans. |

I'm sure if Roy had his way Grig would have spend the whole year in the Q. |

He won the Memorial Cup in 2006 with the Remparts. Just saying. |

Surprised at all the negative feedback. Roy has done great things with the ramparts and his energetic coaching style could be what this young team needs.
Clearly Sacco's laid back style of coaching didn't work. We have the number one overall pick this year and were the second worst team in the NHL. Only way to go is up and I believe Roy can help this club. |

More then most coaches in the NHL today!!! he's been coaching in the Q for almost 10 years now! Winning the Memorial Cup in '06 and every year he puts up a top 5 very competitive team in the Q (307-128-32 record)! Grigo was too young and not ready to go to Buffalo under that type of defensive coaching...he should have stayed in the Q to develop more...actually happy he was sent back and contributed to the Remparts at the end... Most people don't follow the Remparts other then when Roy makes the news for an incident; which is rare... I follow the Remparts year in and year out and he does great work with the kids which would be good for Colorado being they are a young team with a 1st overall pick coming...I'm not saying they are now contender for a cup but they'll go from 15th to playoff contender next year or at the most the following year! |

Get your fact straight
yes he has a name... and a F*in big one... 4 Stanley Cup, HOF, and natural leader DNA... Butas a coach, 307-128-32 + a Memorial Cup is an impressive resume too
About Grigo, last year, april 2012, Roy said than Grigo wasn't ready for the NHL and that he will need 1 more full year in the junior before to go pro... If the Sabres promoted him too early isn't Roy's fault |
