If we had them as a 3rd line, that would mean our top 2 would be REAL special... A better-than-average GM might be capable of accomplishing that...ours however cannot. Be surprised if we see an improvement over Boyes this off-season even with all the UFA's on the market. Garth can't trade. He's a waiver-wire dump bear and a Father Flannagan to "almost-was's " and "coulda/shoulda-been's" His biggest "deal" will be re-signing Bailey and/or Streit.

Honestly I really don't think Garth knows what trade means...

Just seems strange to me, we all know it is he who is posting by looking at the handle. And with the amount of posts he makes in an average day, that's a lot of XxNYIxX's.

Yeah I thought at first it was xxxnyixxx. To be honest I don't if he types it out or if it is set up like that. It is kind of a mystery

Even in-house though...I don't think it's too crazy to wonder whether three of Grabner-Nelson-Strome-Niederreiter-...maybe even Lee...could grow into a solid second line in a couple of seasons. In that case, we'd have our two special lines, with Nielsen's line as the third line. Until then, Nielsen's line has that spot until players are ready to take it from them.

Some will curse him even if he wins a cup..."shoulda done it sooner "
The guy has the most challenging GM position in the NHL and has built a solid team off of the draft, waiver wire transactions and pick for player trades. $16 million in annual team losses, UFA taboo and yet we were on the cusp of upsetting a team some were calling the best in recent memory. Meanwhile a potential marquee player in Stromeand a top line player in Nino both ready to join the mix with multiple highly valued prospects approaching NHL readiness in the near future, but it's still not good enough.

Problem is that he is yet to prove that this team can make it to the promise land in a complete full season. We shall see next year. If they don't make it again next year then there needs some questions to be answered

moulson needs to be watched closely though..if he is indeed a one trick pony who is allergic to contact and does not play a lick of d he has to be considered to be moved at next seasons deadline. i'm not saying write him off..he just needs to be put under the microscope
- NYI78

If his one trick is scoring goals... I will take it...

What did you guys think of Brett Hull... he was a one trick pony too!!!

Yes but he was arguably the best one trick pony ever. The guy had an incedible one-timer and slapper. His goals could be scored from anywhere in the offensive zone while Moulson needs to be within 4-5 feet of the net.

To me that means nothing. If we're searching for reasons to hold on to doubt, then I suppose you can argue that the abbreviated season doesn't answer all questions, yet you could also say that through a full season we may have entered as a #4 seed and found a better matchup and gone all the way. You saw this team perform down the stretch with the rest of us...it was the most inspired hockey we've seen since 2001. I think it's safe to let the guard down now and EXPECT more.

Nothing but positives on the horizon Kasper. We have a player, who I feel, is possibly the best franchise player this organization has seen since the days of Bossy, Potvin and Trotts. I'm not saying he'll have four cups to show for it, but he's the best all around player we've certainly had since Lafontaine and I think he may have the potential to be the best all around offensive player this team has ever had.
We have another big time marquee player about to join the fold along with several other top tier prospects.

A new stadium awaits, one that's consdered on of the top 5 venues of it's kind in hockey in a market where marketing money will attract big name players.

Onward and upward.

The anchors that have held this team down for over two decades have been cut and we're already seeing the result of something we haven't seen since Torre......PATIENCE.

You can most certainly fit those guys. Its called getting rid of Moulson.

Moulson was horrific in last 15 games of season and worst isles players in Playoffs. Hands down. You guys Bashing Boyes, if Moulson did the one job he gets paid to do, isles would have been in 2nd round. thats right, he stands in front of net and puts in tap in goals and he fanned on his last 15 opportunities.

Josh Bailey outplayed him bigtime on top line and even Tavares said Josh is incredible playmaker.

Moulson should be traded for a dman.

- Spartiarti

I was bashing Moulson but was getting raped for doing so
But I agree, while I love Moulson, we now have better options

If there is a better option than Moulson it should be pursued, if there is a return that is better than him it should be taken of course. Boyes should not even be mentioned in next years lineup. If Snow resigns him he needs his head examined.
