I don't see how are they over rated? They won the Presidents Trophy for a reason. Detroit is a really good team, way different level than the Wild. (Sorry Wild fans). Hawks just might have fallen into a rut at the wrong time.

For once in a long time I agree with what Don Cherry said about the Hawks, the season and the first round was just too easy for them. Detroit is making their life miserable right now but they aren't responding.

I believe whoever takes this series takes the west, assuming they still have gas in the tank.

Nobodies saying the fans won it. Everybody in Hockey knows these players (the Kings) accomplished one of the greatest Stanley Cup runs in the history of the NHL!! You guys don't seem to respect that fact nor do you know what it's like because your team chokes every year. Jealousy is a terrible thing and facing your reality that your team is a failure is a hard thing to come to grips with. You guys may do it this series and this year and I say more power to you! The problem is you haven't done SH#T yet!! The Kings have!!

We respect the run, everyone does, we just don't respect the idiot fans on this board who seem to have developed a "holier than thou" attitude because of it.

Hmm funny. I heard quite a different story when it was the Sharks down 2 men in Game 2. Then it was all about the refs and bad calls.

Didn't hear it from me. My thing with bad calls is this...they happen and they are part of the game. If you give the ref a chance to make a bad call they will. No crying from me in game 2. Sharks screwed up and paid for it. Even with the push he could have skated around Niemi...maybe turned his skates to try to stop..no attempt to stop and what can be a weak call was made.

I know, my statement was for the many who were trying to justify the calls made in game 3 after screaming bloody murder about calls in game 2. My trolling was for the numerous hypocrytes that I saw on here. I was pretty quiet before that.

I personally think the reffing has been terrible both ways. You are right, he could have skated around Niemi and at any other point in the game I, myself, would have called that a penalty. Here's the thing: At other points in the game they didn't! Just like the delay of game call against the Sharks was BS.

In both cases given the circumstances:

In a 2nd round playoff that is very close with less than 2 minutes to play, you give the SJ player the benefit of the doubt and take a good look that the puck probably skimmed Carter's jersey and you don't put that team down 2 men with that much left to play.

You also call the play with Lewis dead so the Kings don't get a goal or an advatage just like I've seen them do the 20 other times both teams ran into the goalie and they didn't call a penalty at all, and you don't put a team down 2 men with that much left to play.

I feel they as referees are strongly influencing the outcome of the games in my opinion and that is wrong. Let these teams duke it out themselves, it's a great series already. Stay the freak out of it, 2 teams is enough, we don't need a 3rd.

I KNOW that the game is still early and anything can happen...but you know what this game reminds me of so far? Anyone ever see that Southpark where the pee wee league plays the Redwings?

He played 2 periods in game 2 and never returned. I think it's a mix of him being a female dog and the coaching staff getting fed up with him

It's a shame. He's always been a skilled player. Part of the reason i'm rooting for San Jose is for him to finally get a Cup... after being injured all the time.
