Then why would any coach or manager ever get fired I'm sure they all tell the players what to do. Some coaches have a lot less talent they are telling it to and they lose their jobs,

But those teams also dont make the playoffs.

Would ceratinly help if they won

In theory it isn't a must win, vs the caps we said the same thing. But I don't think you can go down the same road every series. Last year we tried that and it didn't work either.

So In short I kind if agree. As must a win can get without being a elimination game

And no OT please

Nothing a lot of us, including myself, havent already said.

They play too safe, too afraid to make mistakes, too busy collapsing instead of taking some risks and opening it up. Weekes isnt saying anything new.

A lot of times those teams aren't expected to make the playoffs. It's all about getting most out of team, individual players and reaching expectations. Last year was one in four that team exceeded expectations. Every other year they have either barely reached expectations or fallen short including this season so far.

He is our coach, and we have to accept the bad with the good. Do I like this style? No. But it got us this far, and got us to the ECF last year... so clearly something about it works. I just hate the fact that he refuses to evolve it and open it up slightly.

How did they fall short? Theyre still in the playoffs... or am I watching the playoffs of a different yet parallel universe?

I agree. It's more about him making slight changes vs bringing in a new coach. A coach of his calibre should be able to make adjustments. Who knows, maybe in training camp they'll have tweaked the system. But we have a cup to win before that, so we need to take this game today. LGR!

Maybe thats the thing. Maybe he did have plans to do some tweaking, but without an offseason and proper training camp he could never implement it so he stuck with what worked last year.

So going from Stanley cup favorite to fighting for playoff spot till last week of season is acceptable. If they lose against a banged up Boston team is playoffs good enough?

I don't find it a Torts bash at all. I find it a critique on a system that needs to be adjusted a little to suit the personnel. The key part of that personnel is hank. Here's the bash ( sort of ) Torts needs to adjust the system.....next season. Now is not the time. Continue with what they're doing and we'll see how far it gets them.

I've seen a lot of articles about this but not to many praising the way they play right now. But, no time to change now, next season will be telling.

Let's Go Rangers!!!!!!!

Well then you gotta close your eyes and ears and start having an opinion of your own. I wasnt on that bandwagon, I thought we had a good squad but I wasnt ready to call them the champs. I knew the loss of depth would factor in and hurt us some.

Some would say last year we overachieved. Which is a testament to coach if he gets his team to overachieve.

How soon we forget how many years this team/org underachieved it's sad really when you think about it

I think they did go above expectations last season. But that is only one year in four. If they lose this series is season considered a success to you? Ot trying to be jerky just wondering, my expectations with a HOF goalie in his prune is to be cup contender every year.

They sort of are. But will be happy but ifnthey get pounded in ECF by Ottawa like they did last year against Devils I will not be happy, not going to say Pittsburg because they gave all world talent. But on paper no way should the Devils have handled us so easily last season. And as far as my expectations shared by others who are paid (broadcast and print media) team should ge here. Just didn't think it would ve epic struggle to playoffs and beat Caps.
