Amazing how all the focus should be on Game 3 and trying to get back in this series in general and yet all the conversation is on if Torts should be fired.

Meh whats there to discuss with that though? Don't make mistakes and we need Girardi and Hank to play at their elite level.

Thats a good point. It would have tpo be a clear upgrade. There is no indication that the players don't like playing for Tortorella. Is a failing PP and his lack of media tact enough to fire him? We will find out. We will find out as soon as tonight, if they go out and completely quit on the guy, you might get me to change my tune but does anyone here really think that will happen?

There is no way that will happen.

But isn't replacing players easier then replacing coaches? I mean the whole team recieves a brand new mindset when someone new gets hired. And it usually doesn't happen overnight. A new coach could be a positive but it just as easily could set them back a few more years

I disagree. It isnt football. Coaches can easily be recycled in the NHL.

It could be worse, like talking about Obama and the IRS scandal

But seriously, it's a hot button issue everyday til he goes. Unfortunately

and to be fair, with success, how many times was Claude Julien hried and fired. Mike Keenan for gods sake. Football it seems so hard to win in a second city and most of them get one or two chances. Jim Fassel, Brian Billick even are 2 classic examples.

I don't agree with that. I think it is much easier to replace a coach then to turn over a roster. But, I don't want this team turned over to some newbie. IMO, it would have to be a guy with significant experience and a track record. Team is too good to experiment.

So at the end of the day, you might have to send Torts to sensitivity training and just keep him!

You know I don't hate his guts right? I think there is a difference between that, and just wanting something new it things get stale. But, he wins this series, there is no way he gets fired.

I know you don't, you've acknowledged numerous times he can coach.

Your probably right.

X's and O's I don't think he needs to go. Personality and pr wise he has wore out his welcome. So I guess if the players are tuning him out, that's the deciding factor and the million dollar question series 1, it didn't happen...tonight is the next plateau

It's funny, but I don't have any major complaints with the way that the team has played in the playoffs. I think they beat a tough Caps team in a great series, and could just as easily be a tied series with Boston. Do I think Boston can win this series in 5? Yes. But, I also think the Rangers can make a series out of it if they get some luck.

I still say we argue over the wrong guy being fired. I don't uderstand the jutification for Sullivan, I just don't.

Since 2008-2009 the power play has been awful. Let's throw out the 08/09 season due to the fire of coaching staff that started the season.

2009-10: Regular season: 18.3%. No playoffs
2010-11: Regular season: 16.9%. Playoffs: 5%
2011-12: Regular season: 15.7%. Playoffs: 17.8%
2013: Regular season: 15.7%. Playoffs: 5.6%

I don't understand how he has a job, he's killing this team.

Well, maybe not intentionally. I think at times this year they weren't enjoying the game, which sometimes come with having to play for that type of coach over the course of years -- you get mentally exhausted. But, there is no doubt in my mind that they like the guy, and want to win for him. There is definetely no Messier-Neilsen situation.

I work with a die hard Bruins fan, so as I run into him today, I told him how the Bruins are showing us the way to this point, his response, "oh don't worry, we will give it back to you". Not that he is representative of the entire Bruins fan base but they do tend to lose focus with a lead and it is certainly not lost on fans.

Speaking of fans, this is now the second playoff series in which little to no fans have invaded our thread and vice-versa.

I wonder if this was also a product of a hangover from the previous year. They haven' thad a real klinker in the playoffs and that includes the last game. Down 3-2 going into the 3rd isn't a clunker.

I've said the same thing about Geoff Ward, but you can win without a PP, Bruins proved that.

But at least the Bruins were over 10% in their cup year. I'd take 10% in a heart beat at this rate

I hear ya, it's frustrating when you look at what both teams can put over the boards on a PP, I don't understand it.

Bruins at 16% during the playoffs when operating on the power play. 3 times as good as the Rangers.
