He was an NHL player because of Red Berenson not Torts, he looked this fat coming out of Michigan - cranford93
With all due respect to red and Michigan, torts has to have to had some influence on his play.
I heard gilroy was phat coming out of college, and he... Well we know |

Bummer, sorry. I am a fan of having the best players play the game. Hope he is OK. - powerhouse
Staal and Clowe played GM3 v. Caps, both havent played since.
Staal, like said, still didnt feel right out there. Clowe looks like he hasnt gotten over the concussion. |

You guys are having trouble generating speed through the neutral zone. Who is your best puck moving defenseman with Staal out? |

Del zotto should be, but he's another guy that has underwhelmed so far |

He should, but he isnt... DZ hardly ever skates with the puck lately, just looks for that stretch/outlet pass he learned from Redden. |

Hes definitely top 3 skaters on the team, very smooth with the puck... shockingly fast without it. |

He's a bit passive no doubt. They should explore a trade with him this off season. Maybe get an older dman with a better shot. Especially since they have Moore now |

Well... if they want that right handed shot... Bogosian is a RFA, could trade for his rights flat out and it wouldnt cost as much. Babchuk is a UFA this off-season as well.
My proposal... MDZ + Hagelin for Yandle. Sure, hes a left handed shot... but when youre good, youre good, dont matter.
Oh and it would be nice if we could get PHX to take a nice % cut of Yandle's salary to have some space. 10% this coming year, 5% the following year. |

He's been great, one of the most improved players in the league, that I'll give Torts credit for |
|

Torts called Hagelin dumb earlier in the season then Hags got hot don't you guys know by now that Torts uses the media to make it about him to relieve pressure or to motivate his players? If I know this with my novice level of hockey knowledge then certainly those of you non kool aid drinkers who have advanced hockey knowledge should be able to see this. Haven't you noticed when asked to critique his players his canned reply is, I don't critique players yet he really in an almost playful way talks about Hags as a PP stinker. He also in a not so subtle way called Richards out for not taking steps as an older player to keep in shape during the lockout.
By the way, my tongue is firmly imbedded in cheek right now and am trying to have a little fun.
Lets enjoy win day |

Why he's greatest coach since Toe Blake. Now if Hags has good game it will be because of this quote. Nothing to do with his talent. And for the Torts kool aid drinkers isn't hags not doing what the coach wants on the pp a coachable moment. - Chris Erwin
Well said. Who's fault is it if Hags stinks on the PP, the player or the coach. I say the coach for not correcting Hags being too fast! |

Is the coach gonna play for him too? If you think Tort's is just standing there and not telling his players anything and saving it for the press conference, you gotta be massive idiot.
Its up to the players to listen and execute. This team is filled with talented guys, but I wouldnt say we have a bunch of players who are good on the puck.
Of the 8 teams left, we are definitely the worst passing team. |

Pretty sure other players with speed have excelled on pp. Not sure Hags is a sniper but having speed is really a dumb reason to point to. Fans and media point all seem to point to lack of movement and shots on pp woes. Seems a jitterbug would help with the movement aspect. |

Then why would any coach or manager ever get fired I'm sure they all tell the players what to do. Some coaches have a lot less talent they are telling it to and they lose their jobs, |
