They are a hard team to hate. Good game there. - gkmkiller
They really are well coached and have a lot of players that work their tails off. |
|
|
|
Yeah, but I can understand. That was a deflating goal for us and they were the ones working their asse$ off in the second. A goal that never should have happened but it did. The important thing now is how we bounce back at home after that game. - gkmkiller
That was a huge goal and the turning point in the game. |

I wonder what Torts thinks of Hagelin on the PP. |

The 2 things the Rangers depend on the most broke down. Their team defending and their goaltending. I just don't have the feeling that they are doomed though. Maybe this team has gone to this well too many times and time will tell that story but until it happens I'm not treating this like its the end. The theme on this board should be just get one game tomorrow night. |

Yup. Sometimes minuses are unlucky or just not a players fault, but every one of those minuses were girardis fault. Terrible game so bad I'm fixin to change my avatar |

For instance, why would he say that crap about Hagelin on the PP? Is it true? Sure. Does he have to throw the guy under the bus like that? I don't pretend to know the first damn thing about how his players feel about him, but if my boss did something like to me, i would jackslap him in the mouth. - WayneZ

Where has Boston dominated these games? They took advantage of Rangers mistakes and have the edge in the goaltending battle. But aside from the overtime period in Game 1 and today's third period, the Rangers have stayed with Boston. - MidnightMarauder
Totally agree. After the 2nd yesterday Boston had 12 giveaways

I wouldn't say I am insulted. I do find his comments frustrating and sometimes annoying along with those of just about every other poster here on occasion. But I've never hit the "!" button on any comment I've ever read on this site. This is the internet and I expect to encounter a lot of stupidity.
What sucks is I don't remember the discussions on this board getting quite so "intense" until the last few months. I don't know why that is or why it has to be. That is getting frustrating. We all have opinions but we aren't giving enough respect to each others opinions. I say "we" because I consider all Rangers fans to be part of a single team with the common goal or desire to see the Rangers win the Cup. If we can't get along here what does that say about us? And TJ, I am not directing the last part of this specifically at you; I am directing that to all of us on this board. I just happened to have attached it to the initial response since it segued perfectly into this point. - gkmkiller

Having said that though, they don't hold serve at home, they won't win this series. They need to return to Boston with the series tied. |

A lot of our threads over in Islanders land got like this and it stopped me from WANTING to post on this site for awhile. It seems we always have one who likes to rattle the nest.
You guys always get along, so I've been rather surprised to see it get like it's been recently. I know playoff time can get intense and wanting to "stick to your guns" in an argument or disagreement can get a little more meaningful, but sometimes it does get a little ridiculous. I'm 36, I just tune the (frank) out after a minute or two of it, haha. |

I can't find Wayne's post, but, and I touched on it earlier, Tortarella's little tactic with Hagelin is about as low of a shot I've seen in all my years of following sports.
If the Rangers lose this series, he should be fired. Immediately. His act is old. Coaches like him win despite them, not because of them. If I owned a team, I wouldn't put up with a coach talking the way he does to the press. I would have fired him a while ago. Your team has a lot of talent, he holds them back, it's obvious. You'd be better off with (frank)ing Avery coaching the team, at least he knows a clown when he sees one. |

unfortunately that's all it takes with a team like Boston. The good teams capitilize on just about every breakdown. |

Agreed and so far that is the difference. The Rangers aren't taking advantage of Bruins' breakdowns and the Bruins are capitalizing on just about every Ranger mistake.

I'm not trying to rattle the cage or anything, just from an outsider's perspective his bullying tactics are junior high-esque and living in NY and reading the papers and poop, he comes off like a wiener.
That poop should stay in the locker room. Why call your players out in the press? That type of motivation never works, especially coming from a sensitvo like Torts. The guy can certainly dish it, he definitely can't take it. |

No, I agree with those Hagelin comments being out of line. Especially when Hagelin has been one of the few forwards, giving effort nightly, in these playoffs. Tortorella does a good job drawing the media to him instead of his players. But these comments put Hagelin in the spotlight, front and center. If he is going to call out a specific forward it should be his hockey son Richards. Guy is a complete shell of what he used to be.

That is an excellent point. I agree with you 100%.
I like Hagelin, I like the energy he brings, and he's one of the reasons you guys are where you are right now. Why single him out? |

+1000. When Clowe comes back it should be Richards who is benched but that will never happen because Torts loves him. Just really hoping he is bought out.. Get 2 solid $4M players to add to thsi team to repalce Richards and Pyatt? We'd be lethal. |

He was asked why Hags doesn't get more power play time. He gave an honest answer. Maybe too honest, he could have said b/c he is ineffective and not used the word stink. I also think, if the Rangers win yesterday, this is a non-issue. He did go on to say that he loves him as a player and trusts him in every situation and he has never had a player so effective 5 on 5 and so ineffective 5 on 4...i'm not defending him but the other things he said about Hags shouldn't be left out either. |

I called him out for it too but he was asked a question, he didn't just come out and call out Hags |
