And he has coached Kreider a first round player into fourth line/ahl player.
- Chris Erwin

And Kreider has nothing to do that?

He hasnt coached him into a 4th line player, but fact of the matter is the guys ahead of him on the depth chart have a lot more experience out there and he trusts them more defensively. However, Kreider could do a lot worse for himself than to play with Richards and Asham.

Fact of the matter is, players need to DO SOMETHING, to earn their spot. Kreider isnt doing anything with the time he has out there to earn himself more minutes. If he consistently starts to cause a turn over here and here, and get a good shot on net that turns into an offensive zone faceoff, he will get more minutes, but when that line gets abused backchecking, dont expect Tort's to play him more minutes to get burned defensively more frequently.

Kreider didnt start out on the 1st line last year, he earned his keep, he got a couple big goals and got more minutes, Tort's even looked over the god aweful attempt to clear the zone that turned into a pass to Ovi and a goal... which Tort's NEVER overlooks.

Well I consider myself passionate and not sure who my buddy is. But if it's the rangersaver person he seems passionate and way less jerky then both you and me. I admit I get defensive and argumentative and I hope you realize that about yourself. But he seems calm and consistent,

That play vs the caps in game 7 is all you need to know. Hank bailed him out big time. Imagine the ice time he gets if green scores?

I'm fine with all that best product on ice. But can't point to coaching 6th rounder to top six forward (fringe in my mind) great third liner decent 2nd liner IMO. I was just pointing out should use his coaching magic on CK. And the whole accountability thing you point out is great. But has to e somewhat consistent.

It is him. He's just a loon I think

I just think you and him particularly have a hard on for torts to go. I just defend him more vigorously then most. I realize what we have in him

Neither of you ever once say anything positive about him. Nothing. Ever. I obviously have issue it

Its a big reason why Tort's and Gabby never got along, Tort's wanted him to play defense so bad, but Gabby would never give it 100% hes always tentative and cautious and soft. On the flip side, how do you bench or move a 40 goal scorer to the 4th line.

Consistent with who? Did any of us think we would see Richards, Tort's boy, centering the 4th line? Id say thats pretty damn consistent.

I am however always annoyed and bothered by seeing Richards on the point on the PP. He has no business there.

Well took him long time to move Richards to 4th line and I'm sure first good shift he will be playing 18 minutes again. And Richards on point on struggling pp is inexcusable.

If we're not in the playoffs and playing regular season games he's still playing first or second line probably.

But now it's playoffs even torts sees Richards doesn't have it. He's adjusted line combos/ice time very well so far in rd 1 and gm 1 vs Bs. But I'm drinking the kool aid of course

I dont think so. I think Torts would want to see more than 1 good shift.

I think the Rangers played pretty well. I just think you guys are missing Staal. He could really help move the puck and if he were in they would have fewer shots on you. Is there any chance he will play?

And how many poor power plays is the little genius going to need to see. It would be different if pp was moderately effective,

Well if Kreider has struggled so mightily and hagelin hasn't, yes hagelin has grasped how to be a success.

See this is perfect example of you tort bashers:

Things go well, its only the players and couldn't possibly be the coaching

When they go bad, it's never the players fault only the coaches.

How could he ever win with you?

He played game 3 and it didn't go well. He got drilled in the corner because his vision was still off. He didn't feel comfortable he said. I doubt he gets in there again

Well he took him off the point in GM1 and moved him back to C on the 2nd PP group. Hopefully it stays like that.

Personally, Id like to see...

1st PP - Let Boyle park his ass, let MZA handle the passing on the point. Nash HAS TO F'ING SHOOT ON THE PP!
Boyle, Brassard, Nash
Moore, MZA

2nd PP - Pass, rotate to net, look for rebounds, shoot, over and over again.
Richards, Stepan, Callahan
Girardi, MDZ

But thats me. Hagelin would work his way in there as well.

It actully tastes refreshing you should give it a try

Edit :
Heres a sip of it:

Hagelins only coach in the NHL is torts and his coaching has developed a 6th round player into a top 6 forward. Oh the horror. He so awful

- Slimtj100

He was an NHL player because of Red Berenson not Torts, he looked this fast coming out of Michigan

Don't surrender this time TJ
