Contenders don't come from unknowns, this group has to show some sort of excellence before they start leaving at free agency

How can anyone find a positive with 2 players having better games in game 2 than game 1?

- cranford93

Bc it's pro sports in an era between winning losing is so slim. At 2-2 today Stepan hit both posts, if that puck goes in we might be 1-1 here.

Boston won a cup a year after they blew a 3-0 lead to Philly. I get you are annoyed, believe me, but this team is not as awful as you make it seem. Boston hasn't blown their doors off and they are one win from getting right back in this series.

Seriously, I am mad, but far from feeling that Boston is superior to the Rangers.

Torrey Krug H's outplayed our entire defense, that's the glaring difference, we'll never see a player coming up with games like that

Even if the Rangers get swept, it's not going to kill my feelings going into next season. Pro sports is much more year to year than ever.

Exactly, this team can compete next season for sure, but adjustments do need to be made. The power play simply needs to get better, there's no getting around that fact.

Feel the same way and that's what ignites my anger towards the Rangers, series doesn't start until the home team loses and I hope it's game 5

Adjustments are always made. Even cup winning teams make them. It's the way of a salary cap world.

Attaboy big guy, let's stay positive, no sense in giving yourself an ulcer.

Now a loss Tuesday and then you can find me on a ledge.

Not shaving my face fully until they are eliminated. I had to tweak a little bit, due to a wedding I had to attend, last week.

Beard on until these guys are done.

damn boys. tough game for hank. had he played like he did last series, it would be 1-1.

and you never know, in 2009 we overcame being down 2-0 to both Washington and Detroit so anything is possible.

In his defense, the defense in front of him was probably the worst all year today. Specifically girardi and del zotto. He was screened on 3 of the goals to boot.

He isn't and will never be the problom of this team

As a whole the D did a good job of keeping the Bruins away from Hank and to the perimeter. They also did well to move the puck to the forwards in the transition game. The problem was too many breakdowns and Hank wasn't able to bail them out. The one that stung the most was Girardi's failure to tie up Marchand on the eventual game-winner.

rangers don't want to win the cup this year anyway, Stanley cup championships in half seasons don't count. isn't that the rules?

Bear in mind, Boston's good. Before the injuries to Bergeron and Marchand they were tearing the league apart. Now they are missing two of their top 6 D and are more vulnerable in their own zone if...and this is a big if...you can sustain pressure down low.

I felt before the series that if only one of Boston's two big lines was effective then the Rangers could win on the strength of their defensive philosophy and goaltending. However, if you have Boston's top 2 lines flying through the neutral zone the Rangers can't win. This was the worst Ranger backchecking I have seen in some time. Combine that with the Bruins' talent and you have a predictable result today.

Which in some ways may be a good thing for you guys. Because some of these are fixable issues. For the Rangers to win, that third man high has to be there in the neutral zone and the forwards really have to help in the slot area. As you saw today, and it's been true all year, when the Bruins are going good they will make you pay in the slot. Turn it into a more defensive game though, and the Bruins have had their share of vulnerabilities in the last third of the season as well as against the Leafs. Get that part of the game together and I think the Rangers can take both at home. Krug has been good and so has Hamilton. But when you're down Seidenberg and Ference, that means you are more vulnerable down low. Backcheck and create transition, the resulting flow means you get the puck deep where you can do damage of your own. There's your two keys right there.
